These chicken tenders are so good and easy, easy to prepare and they taste amazingly similar to Cracker Barrel chicken tenders. Either fire up the grill or cook on an indoor grill for a flavorful treat. They are great on a garden salad or with vegetables.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 pkg chicken tenders (about 1 lb.) [or 2 large boneless chicken breast, cut into chicken tender size]
1/2 c bottled zesty italian dressing
1 Tbsp honey
1 tsp lime juice

Steps:

  • 1. In a gallon zip-lock bag, mix Italian dressing, honey and lime juice. Add chicken tenders and marinate in the frig for several hours.
  • 2. In a large iron skillet or on a grill, cook chicken with marinade until browned and tender.

1 tablespoon water
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon curry powder
1/8 teaspoon each ground turmeric, ginger and cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon paprika
1/2 pound chicken tenderloins

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine water and seasonings; brush over both sides of chicken tenders. Place in a bowl and toss to coat; refrigerate for 15 minutes., Place chicken on a broiler pan coated with cooking spray. Broil 3-4 in. from the heat for 3 minutes on each side or until meat is no longer pink.

I found the basic idea for this on the back of a box of butter. I changed it a little to suit my own tastes, and they turned out super delicious.

6 tablespoons butter
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon horseradish
1/2 teaspoon mustard
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon italian seasoning
1 lb chicken tenders

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450º.
  • Melt butter and combine with red pepper flakes.
  • Brush 2 tbsp butter over a foil lined baking pan and set the remaining butter aside.
  • Whisk egg and blend in mustard and horseradish.
  • Coat chicken with egg mixture.
  • Combine breadcrumbs, cheese and Italian seasoning in a shallow bowl.
  • Remove the chicken tenders from the egg mixture and coat them with the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Place the pieces on the prepared pan.
  • Drizzle reserved butter mixture over the chicken tenders.
  • Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until the chicken pieces are browned and thoroughly cooked.

These spicy chicken tenders get a little heat from red pepper and chili powder. Serve with a side of ranch dressing for dipping.

1 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon red pepper (add more if you want them really spicy, omit if no spice)
1 teaspoon chili powder
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon celery salt
2 teaspoons sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1 package chicken tenders (14 to 16 oz)
2 to 3 tablespoons butter, melted
Ranch dressing, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 450°F. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a pie plate, combine the Bisquick mix, onion powder, red pepper, chili powder, paprika, celery salt and sugar. Stir together until well mixed.
  • In medium bowl, mix egg and milk with whisk until well blended. Spoon 1 to 2 tablespoons egg mixture into the Bisquick mixture; stir until little lumps form.
  • Dip the chicken breast tenders into the egg mixture, then into the Bisquick mixture, then back into the egg mixture and finally back into the Bisquick mixture. Place on cookie sheet. Repeat with remaining chicken. Drizzle butter over chicken.
  • Bake 12 to 14 minutes, turning halfway through bake time, until no longer pink in the center. Serve tenders with ranch dressing if desired.
