AUTHENTIC NORWEGIAN WAFFLES
Easy Norwegian Waffles are sweet, crisp, and perfectly delicious. These heart shaped waffles are an amazing breakfast or dessert.

- In a large mixing bowl use a hand mixer to beat together eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.
- Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined
- Add in sour cream and melted butter and mix until the batter is smooth. Let rest 20 minutes before making waffles.
- Heat a heart shaped waffle iron and spray with nonstick cooking spray or brush with melted butter.
- Pour 1/4 cup of the batter onto the waffle iron, close, and cook until light brown. Serve with whipped cream, creme fraiche or sour cream. Traditional toppings include lingonberry jam, brown cheese, sour cream, and berries.

VANILLA SUGAR CAN BE BOUGHT HERE IN THE USA AT IKEA OR WHOLE FOODS - JUST LEAVE OUT IF YOU DONT HAVE ANY AFTER YOU TAKE THE WAFFLE OFF THE IRON PUT IT ON COOLING RACK. MY KIDS EAT THEM AS FAST AS I CAN MAKE THEM :) THEY ARE ALWAYS THE BEST - FRESH *great and easy recipe to make ahead of time. store in a sealed container in the refrigerator. - In a large bowl mix together the flour, baking powder and sugar. Gently crush the cardamom pods to break them open, then remove the seeds and discard the husks. Grind the seeds using a mortar and pestle, and add the ground cardamom to the flour mix.
