YOGHURT CEREAL BARS
Glad to have a homemade cereal bar recipe. A great way to use open boxes of cereal that no one is eating. Trying different cereals would probably work, just adjust the cinnamon, Splenda & syrup accordingly.

Steps:
- 1. Place cereal, 1 1/2 cups flour, sweetener or choice, & cinnamon into a food processor and pulse into crumbs.
- 2. Add syrup & applesauce & pulse to form crumbly dough.
- 3. Press half of this into a greased 8" square pan. Using a spatula to press it down is helpful.
- 4. In other bowl combine the yoghurt, egg & 2 tbsp flour.
- 5. Pour this on top of the bottom layer.
- 6. Crumble remaining mixture on top of yoghurt mixture pressing down with a spatula to form an even top. It is ok if some yoghurt seeps through the top.
- 7. Bake at 350' for about 30 minutes until set.
- 8. Cool then cut into bars.
YOGURT CEREAL BARS
I got this from wholesometoddlerfood.com and they got it from Stoneyfield Farms Yogurt. There is lots of room for variation in this recipe. Try adding nuts or flax seed meal or chaniging the type of cereal... I really enjoy making and eating these with my daughter!

- Preheat oven to 350.
- Combine cereal, 3/4 cup flour, sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Cut in butter until coarse crumbs form.
- Press 1/2 the mixture firmly into the bottom of a greased 8inch square pan.
- Mix yogurt, egg and 2 tablespoons flour in another small bowl. Spread over cereal mixture in pan and then sprinkle the remaining cereal mixture on top.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown; cut into bars when cooled.

VANILLA YOGHURT COATED GRANOLA BAR RECIPE
An easy fruit and nut granola bar with a vanilla yoghurt coating. Perfect as a handy on the go snack for school, in the car or added to a lunchbox.

- Preheat oven to 180ºC/160ºC fan/Gas 4.
- Line a 9-inch square baking tin with baking paper and lightly spray with cooking oil.
- Place granola on a lined baking tray and bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly toasted.
- In a small pan, heat the honey, butter and brown sugar until the butter has melted and the sugar has dissolved.
- Set aside a tablespoon of the mixed seeds, almonds and dried cherries to decorate the tops with later.
- Once the ingredients in the pan have melted, add the salt and remaining mixed seeds, almonds, dried cherries and all of the toasted granola. Mix thoroughly to combine.
- Press the granola mixture into the baking tin, use the back of a spoon to spread it evenly to the edges.
- Use the set-aside seeds, cherries and almonds to decorate the top of the granola base, pressing them in firmly with the back of a spoon. Chill for two hours until set.
- Once set, turn the contents out on to a board and cut into 8 bars.
- Place the yoghurt into a bowl and add the melted butter, mix to combine. Add the icing sugar and whisk until you have a thick consistency. The yoghurt mixture will thicken more as it sits.
- Dip the bars into the yoghurt mixture to coat the underside. Turn them upside down and put the bars into the fridge for an hour to set.

I always think cereal bars were a hard thing to make! but my grandma showed me a easy way to make it! crunch yet tasty!

- In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
- Remove from heat. Add cereal. Stir until well coated.
- Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool.
- Cut into 2-inch squares. Can be stored in airtight container for 1 days or freezer for 3 weeks.
