Steps:
- In a medium sized skillet add the olive oil and onion over medium high heat. Sauté until almost tender and add the ground beef and cook and crumble until no longer pink.
- Add the garlic, ketchup, brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, Worcestershire sauce salt and pepper. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Serve on buns.

COCA COLA SLOPPY JOES
When we were kids, we always called these yip yips. I guess that is a Midwestern thing. I've been looking for a sloppy joe recipe that tasted like my mom's for years (she always just threw it together and I could never get the taste) and finally found it. Since we're Pepsi lovers, I substituted it for the Coca Cola.

- Brown beef and onion in a large skillet.
- Drain well.
- Stir in remaining ingredients as listed.
- Mix well.
- Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.

- If using bacon (thin, thick or turkey bacon), in a large skillet cook the bacon on medium-high for 2-3 minutes until crisp. Remove from pan to paper-towel lined plate.
- Reserve about 2 tablespoons of bacon grease -- if you used turkey bacon or precooked bacon, or chose not to use bacon, simply add 2 tablespoons of olive or vegetable oil. Heat skillet to medium-high heat and cook onions and peppers; about 5 minutes until soft and slightly caramelized.
- Add minced garlic the last minute and stir until fragrant. Scoot veggies to the side, adding ground meat to skillet.
- Break meat apart into chunks to brown, don't break into tiny pieces, keep some larger, that will help keep the sandwich together better. Brown until almost all pink is gone. About 5-6 minutes.
