4 average fat-free beef and pork hot dogs
4 rolls reduced-calorie hot dog buns
15 ounces canned low-fat chili
1/4 cup red onion, minced
1/2 cup low-fat shredded cheddar cheese
1 spray olive oil flavored cooking spray

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  • Place hot dogs in buns; top each with about 1/4 cup of chili, 1 tablespoon of onion and 2 tablespoons of cheese. Lightly coat cheese with cooking spray.
  • Wrap hot dogs in foil; cook until warmed through and cheese is melted, about 15 minutes. Serve hot.

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients and simmer for one hour.
  • Or you can put all ingredients in the crock pot and simmer on low for 4-6 hours.

1 lb lean ground beef or 1 lb ground turkey
1 small chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 1/2 cups water or 1 1/2 cups beef stock
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 (16 ounce) can chili beans, undrained (use hot if you like spicy chili)
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste

Steps:

  • Cook Meat, onion, and garlic in a dutch oven or large saucepan on medium high heat until browned, stirring to crumble the meat well.
  • Drain in a colander and rinse with hot water, return to pan. Stir in water (or stock) and remaining ingredients.
  • Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
