To make Date Paste:
1/4 cup of Shields Date Crystals
1/4 cup of water
Mix well and freeze overnight
To make Shields Famous Date Shake:
1/4 cup Frozen Date Paste from above
1 cup Vanilla Ice Cream
1/2 cup very cold milk

Steps:

Blend with a drink blender and enjoy. Hint: Make up a large quantity of the Date Paste and keep it in your freezer. Mama Yogi's Note: Delicious made with almond milk

Date Nut Roll
2 c. Sugar
1 c. Milk
1/4 c. Butter
1 c. Dates chopped
1 c. Chopped nuts
1 c. Shredded coconut

Steps:

Combine sugar milk and butter in a heavy saucepan. Cook to soft ball stage add dates; continue cooking and stirring until candy becomes very thick the bubbles will pop with a hissing sound and the mixture will follow the spoon remove from heat add nuts and coconut stir until mixture has consistency of a soft cookie dough turn out cloth dipped in cold water form into 2 long rolls about 1-½ in. in diameter cool cut into slices wrap in waxed paper this kind of candy will freeze well and will keep for several weeks in refrigerator.
