Moist white cake topped with a fluffy vanilla frosting and sprinkles make this White Texas Sheet Cake a dessert that everyone loves!

1 cup butter (softened)
1 cup water
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese (softened)
1/4 cup butter (softened)
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup sprinkles - optional topping

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Place one cup butter and water in a large saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Remove saucepan from heat and stir in flour, sugar, eggs, sour cream, almond extract, salt, and baking soda until smooth.
  • Pour batter into a baking sheet (18 x 13 x 1-inch) sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Bake for 20-22 minutes or until cake is golden brown. Let cool for 20-30 minutes.
  • For the frosting, cream together cream cheese, butter and vanilla together.
  • Add powdered sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
  • Top with sprinkles, if desired.

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, bring butter and water to a boil.
  • Remove from the heat; stir in flour, sugar, eggs, sour cream, almond extract, salt and baking soda until smooth.
  • Pour into a greased 15x10 inch baking pan.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 20-22 minutes or until cake is golden brown and tests done.
  • Cool for 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, for frosting, combine butter and milk in a saucepan; Bring to a boil; remove from heat; add sugar and extract and mix well.

2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter, cubed
1 cup water
2 large eggs, room temperature
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon almond extract
FROSTING:
1/2 cup butter, cubed
1/4 cup 2% milk
4-1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. Grease a 15x10x1-in. baking pan., In a large bowl, whisk the first 5 ingredients. In a small saucepan, combine butter and water; bring just to a boil. Stir into flour mixture. In a small bowl, whisk eggs, sour cream and extract until blended; add to flour mixture, whisking constantly., Transfer to prepared pan. Bake until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 18-22 minutes. Cool on a wire rack 20 minutes. , For frosting, combine butter and milk in a large saucepan; bring just to a boil. Remove from heat; gradually stir in confectioners' sugar and extract.
