My family loves the flavor of French toast in the morning. So for a little variety, we like to replace maple syrup with this slightly sweet topping.

4 tablespoons pure maple syrup
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Add all the ingredients to a bowl.
  • Using an electric mixer, whip the ingredients together until the mixture is light and fluffy. This should take 5-6 minutes.
  • Transfer the flavored butter to an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.

2 sticks butter (room temperature)
1/4 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
3 tablespoons powdered sugar
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup maple syrup

Steps:

  • In mixing bowl add: butter, pumpkin, powdered sugar, cinnamon and maple syrup.
  • Whip together with hand mixer, (use a whisk accessory if you have it.) Alternatively you can whip in your stand mixer using the wire whip beater.
  • Whip until light and fluffy - about a minute.
  • Serve right away or store in air tight conatiner in refrigerator for up to a week.

It's not too sweet in spite of the maple syrup. I've only used real maple syrup, but if you use a syrup blend that should work too. Recipe from FoodDownUnder.

1 1/4 cups maple syrup (real is best)
1/4 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
1 teaspoon cold water

Steps:

  • Whip the butter with an electric mixer until fluffy.
  • Slowly drizzle-in the maple syrup.
  • Soak gelatin in cold water. Then add a few drops of hot water to dissolve.
  • Cool slightly and add to butter. Beat well.
  • Store in the refrigerator in a container with a tight-fitting lid.
