Whey Waffles image

How to make waffles with whey

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/2 cups milk
3 1/2 cups unbleached flour
2 cups whey
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 zest of lemon

Steps:

  • Pour into a big bowl all the wet ingredients; the eggs, the milk, the whey, and mix vigorously and set aside.
  • Into another bowl mix carefully the dry ingredients. When you are dry ingredients are well mixed add them to the wet ingredients and mix carefully, either by hand or with a mixer. Just make sure that there are no lumps of flour.
  • To cook the waffles use a waffle iron or a waffle machine. Follow the instructions of the manufacturer.

1 cup cottage cheese
2 eggs
3 egg whites
1 teaspoon honey
1 splash pure vanilla extract, or to taste
1 pinch ground cinnamon, or to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat a waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions.
  • Blend oats, cottage cheese, eggs, egg whites, honey, vanilla extract, and cinnamon in a blender until creamy.
  • Ladle batter into preheated waffle iron according to manufacturer directions and cook the waffles until golden and crisp, about 5 minutes. Repeat until entire batch of batter is used.
