Whey chocolate mousse image

This delectable chocolate mousse is made with protein-rich whey and double cream for a simple, decadent dessert you can make with just four ingredients

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 gelatine leaves
160ml whey
200g dark chocolate (70%), melted (save a chunk for shaving over)
300ml double cream

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, soak the gelatine leaves in cold water.
  • In a small saucepan over a medium heat, warm the whey until steaming. Squeeze the sheets of gelatine and add to the whey, stirring until they have completely dissolved. Leave to cool slightly.
  • Add a splash of the whey mixture to the melted chocolate, mix thoroughly, then continue to gradually combine the two. The mixture should be very glossy.
  • Whisk the cream to medium peaks. Add a spoonful of the cream to the chocolate mixture and stir well. Fold in the rest of the cream, working quickly. Spoon into dessert glasses and chill for 3 hrs. Serve each one with a large pinch of sea salt and some chocolate shavings sprinkled over.

I have not tried this recipe. I got this recipe from Switch Recipes. It was posted by trying2Bbuff. You can use chocolate protein powder as well for an extra chocolately mousse. Protein grams can equal 15 or higher, depending on how much protein powder you use.

1 cup heavy whipping cream (It fluffs & firms up the best)
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 teaspoons splenda sugar substitute
3 tablespoons unflavored 100% whey protein powder (1-3 scoops any brand)

Steps:

  • Stir dry ingredients together in mixing bowl.
  • Add cream and mix well on low speed for about a minute. Switch to High Speed and mix for about 2 minutes until mixture begins to firm and turn into mousse.
  • Spoon into bowl and refrigerate.
