Nothing is more soothing than a hot cup of spiced orange cider on a cold winter's night. I've enjoyed this recipe for years. Bring this mix to work, as it's a sure-fire drink your co-workers will L-O-V-E. It's also a cute, easy, inexpensive holiday gift that's fun for the kiddos (looks like sand art). Enjoy!

1 cup white sugar
1 cup orange flavored drink mix (such as Tang®)
½ cup instant tea powder
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground cloves

Steps:

  • Combine sugar, orange flavored drink mix, tea powder, cinnamon, and cloves in a large bowl. Store in a sealed container.
  • To serve, mix 2 to 3 tablespoons of the mixture with a cup of hot water.

6 cinnamon sticks, divided
3 cups apple juice
1 cup water
8 whole cloves
2 Tbsp. brown sugar

Steps:

  • Measure drink mix into cap to 1-qt. line; place in medium saucepan. Add 2 cinnamon sticks and all remaining ingredients; stir.
  • Cook on medium heat 5 min. or until heated through. (Do not let boil.) Use slotted spoon to remove spices; discard.
  • Pour drink into mugs. Add 1 of the remaining cinnamon sticks to each.

4 cups water
2 teaspoons ground allspice
1 cinnamon stick (3 inches)
Dash ground cloves
1 gallon apple cider or unsweetened apple juice
1 can (12 ounces) frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
3/4 cup orange juice
1/3 cup honey
1 tea bag

Steps:

  • In a large stockpot, combine the water, allspice, cinnamon stick and cloves. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes. , Add the remaining ingredients. Return just to a boil. Discard cinnamon stick and tea bag. Stir and serve warm.

6 cups water, divided
3/4 cup sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
6 whole cloves
1 large lime, thinly sliced
1 lemon, thinly sliced
3/4 cup lemon juice
Ice cubes
Additional cinnamon sticks, optional

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, bring 4 cups water, sugar, cinnamon and cloves to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 10 minutes. Remove from heat; discard cinnamon and cloves. Cool. , Pour into a large pitcher. Stir in lime, lemon, lemon juice and remaining water. Chill at least 1 hour. Serve in chilled glass over ice. Garnish with cinnamon stick if desired. Can also be served warm.

2 oranges
8 whole cloves
6 cups apple juice
1 cinnamon stick
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
¼ cup honey
3 tablespoons lemon juice
2 ¼ cups pineapple juice

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Stud the whole oranges with cloves, and bake for 30 minutes.
  • In a large saucepan, combine the apple juice and cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium, and simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat, and stir in the nutmeg, honey, lemon juice, and pineapple juice.
  • Serve hot in a punch bowl with the 2 clove-studded baked oranges floating on top.

1 (46 oz) can pineapple juice
2 Tbsp honey ((optional, or to taste))
2 3-inch cinnamon sticks
2 tsp cloves

Steps:

  • In a large pot (at least 6 quarts or larger) whisk together apple cider, pineapple juice, orange juice and honey. Add cinnamon sticks and cloves.
  • Bring to a boil over medium-high heat then reduce heat to low, cover and let simmer 30 minutes.
  • Strain and serve warm. Garnish if desired (see notes).
