1/2 lemon
8 ounces filtered water (hot or warm for morning and night, chilled throughout the day)

Steps:

  • Heat 1 cup of water to either a boil or warm and pour it in a mug or glass heat-proof cup. Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and/or lemon slices.
  • Enjoy warm or hot first thing in the morning when you awake and 20 minutes before eating or drinking coffee. Alternately consume right before bed on an empty stomach.

Another blast from my past that my kids still enjoy! My German Grandma used to make this for us if we had a cold or just needed to warm up on a cold night. I now make it for my kids and they enjoy it a lot. Please note that children under 1 year are not supposed to have honey. Enjoy!

8 ounces water
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (we have used the bottled kind too)
2 tablespoons honey

Steps:

  • Boil water and pour into mug.
  • Stir in lemon and honey. ***Tip - use measuring spoon to stir in honey so it all melts off.***.

1 cup water, just off the boil
1/2 lemon (freshly squeezed)
1 cinnamon stick (optional)

Steps:

  • Take the cup of hot water and place it in a heat-proof mug.
  • Squeeze the lemon juice into the water and stir thoroughly.
  • Drink when temperature is cool enough to not burn your tongue.
  • If you decide to add the cinnamon stick, use it to stir the hot water and then remove it before you drink the lemon water. Otherwise, you could poke out an eye!
