EASY FRENCH TOAST WAFFLES
Making French toast in your waffle iron combines the best of both worlds. You get all the custardy richness of French toast plus waffle's signature crispy ridges. All the better to hold more maple syrup.

- Preheat a waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions and spray with cooking spray.
- Whisk milk, eggs, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt together in a wide bowl until thoroughly combined. Dip bread slices 1 at a time in the egg mixture, coating both sides completely. Lift bread with a slotted spatula to allow excess egg mixture to drain back into the bowl. Place dipped bread slices on a rimmed baking sheet and let rest until mixture soaks in, about 2 minutes.
- Place dipped bread in the preheated waffle iron. Gently close the lid without forcing it down. Cook according to manufacturer's instructions until golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Repeat with remaining slices.

- Preheat waffle iron. In a large mixing bowl, combine waffle mix, sugar and cinnamon. Stir in milk, eggs and vanilla extract.
- Spray preheated waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray. Pour mix onto hot waffle iron. Cook until golden brown. Serve hot.

- Preheat the waffle iron on high. Preheat the oven on its lowest setting.
- In a pie pan or deep dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla and salt.
- Place 2 slices of bread in the egg mixture and soak them until they've absorbed some of the liquid, 30 seconds. Flip the slices and soak them for another 30 seconds.
- Coat both sides of the waffle iron grid with nonstick spray. Place a slice of soaked bread on the waffle iron and pile a little less than half of the chocolate chips on the slice. Top with the second slice of soaked bread, close the waffle iron, and cook until the bread is golden brown and the chocolate is melted, 3 to 4 minutes. There should be no trace of uncooked egg mixture.
- Remove the French toast from the waffle iron and repeat Steps 3 and 4 to make the second batch. Place the finished French toast in the oven to keep it warm.
- Slice the French toast into quarters. Pop open the "pocket" in each quarter and stuff the remaining chocolate chips into the opening. The residual heat will melt the chocolate.
- Top each portion with the Whipped Butter and dust with the powdered sugar before serving.

- In a bowl, whisk milk, eggs, vanilla and cinnamon together. Set aside.
- In a saucepan, over medium heat, melt chocolate chips with half/half until smooth.
- Spread chocolate mixture on one side of a bread slice, then, top with another slice, making a sandwich.
- Dip entire sandwich into egg mixture. Coat well and shake off any extra.
- Over medium heat, melt butter in a skillet or griddle.
- Add coated sandwich to the skillet. Cook on both sides evenly until they are browned.
- In a saucepan, add strawberries, lemon juice and sugar and mix to combined.
- Cook mixture over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Increase heat slightly and bring to a boil.
- Simmer until mixture is thickened. About 10 minutes.
- Serve over warm french toast. Keep any leftovers covered in refrigerator.

- Preheat a waffle iron to medium-high. Preheat the oven to 200˚F (to keep cooked waffles warm). Whisk together the milk, sugar, vanilla, salt, and eggs in a bowl or baking dish. Soak a piece of bread in the mixture for 2 minutes per side. Lightly brush the top and bottom of the waffle iron with butter. Place the soaked bread on the waffle iron and close gently (don't push down). Cook until golden brown and dry underneath when you lift a corner, 5 to 6 minutes. Keep warm in the oven or covered with foil on a plate. Repeat with the remaining bread. Top the French toast with syrup, raspberries and confectioners' sugar.

- Preheat waffle iron. If the iron is well seasoned (in other words, had its share of waffles baked in it without being abused by soap!), there should be no need to oil it. In a shallow bowl, with a flat whisk, combine milk, eggs, sugar, and salt, then melted butter. Dip bread slices, one at a time, in egg mixture and drain. Bake in waffle iron 2-3 minutes, until brown. Serve with bacon or sausage and maple syrup or Strawberry Butter. Strawberry Butter: Just wonderful over pancakes, waffles, and French toast. Combine all in a mixer or food processor until smooth and creamy. It's best served at room temperature, but can be stored in fridge for several weeks. Yields 2 1/2 cups.
