Number Of Ingredients 5

1-1/3 pounds ground beef
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
Optional toppings: Lettuce leaves, sliced tomato, sliced onion, bacon and mayonnaise

Steps:

  • Shape ground beef into four 3/4-in.-thick patties. Just before grilling, sprinkle with salt and pepper. Grill burgers, covered, over medium heat until a thermometer reads 160°, 5-7 minutes on each side. Top bun bottoms with burgers. If desired, serve with lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon and mayonnaise.

1 lb hamburger
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
onion, chopped, if desired
2 tablespoons flour
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can tomatoes and green chilies
water, enough to make gravy

Steps:

  • Mix together hamburger, salt and pepper and onions.
  • Form into patties.
  • Brown patties in frying pan. Do not fry until completely done.
  • Brown flour.
  • Add tomatoes and enough water to the flour to make a thin gravy.
  • Put patties back into mixture and cook over low heat about 30 minutes or bake in oven at 325 or 350 degrees.
