- HEAT oven to 425ºF. BROWN meat in large skillet; drain. Return meat to skillet; stir in water. Add Vegetables and Seasoning Mix; stir. Bring to boil; cook 1 min. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 5 min., stirring frequently. Stir in corn. Spoon into 2-qt. casserole sprayed with cooking spray; cover with Cheese Sauce. MICROWAVE Mashed Potatoes, milk and butter in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 3 min.; stir. Spoon over cheese sauce. BAKE 18 to 20 min. or until filling is heated through and topping is golden brown. Kraft Kitchens Tips Serving Suggestion Serve with a mixed green salad and your favorite fresh fruit to round out the meal. Substitute Prepare using ground turkey breast, or 1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces.
VEGETARIAN SHEPHERD'S PIE II
This was our first vegetarian recipe and has withstood the test of time, now one of our staple recipes.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a large saucepan over medium-low heat, combine 1 1/4 cups broth, yeast extract, lentils and barley. Simmer for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan combine remaining 3/4 cup broth, carrot, onion and walnuts; cook until tender, about 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until tender but still firm, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash.
- Combine flour and water and stir into carrot mixture; simmer until thickened. Combine carrot mixture with lentil mixture and season with salt and pepper. Pour mixture into a 2 quart casserole dish. Spoon mashed potatoes over lentil mixture.
- Bake in preheated oven until lightly browned on top, about 30 minutes.

SHEPHERD'S PIE
Again a recipe my momma made. She used leftover mashed potatoes and Velveeta cheese to melt on top. I serve a green salad and crusty french bread with this. It should serve 6 to 8 but when I had my family at home the 4 of us could polish off this casserole in one meal.

Steps:
- Brown meat, onion, peppers and celery; drain grease.
- In a 9x13-inch pan mix meat, string beans and canned soup.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover meat with mashed potatoes.
- Be sure to spread to edges of the pan to seal.
- Bake in a 350°F oven until heated through, about 30 minutes.
- Top with grated cheese and return to oven until cheese is melted and bubbly.
