Steps:
- Heat olive oil in a medium sauce pot over medium-high heat. Add fennel, onion, garlic, salt, fennel seed and crushed pepper, if using, and cook until vegetables soften and brown slightly, about 5 minutes. Drain and reserve juice from the tomatoes, then crush tomatoes gently with your hands. Add the tomatoes, increase heat to high, and cook until they begin to brown slightly, about 5 minutes.
- Add the reserved tomato juice, vegetable broth, tomato juice, and basil leaves. Bring to a boil, stir, reduce heat to medium low, cover and cook until vegetables are cooked through and soup reduces and thickens, about 30 minutes.
- Remove pot from stove and puree the soup in batches, with an immersion, regular blender, or food processor. Stir in lemon juice and season with pepper to taste. Serve.
- Toast bread in toaster or toaster oven until slightly crisp, about 5 minutes (or less if using a toaster.) Spread one side of each slice of bread with apple jelly. Layer the cheese over the apple jelly, top with remaining slice of bread. Cut out as desired. Garnish as desired.

VAMPIRE BLOOD LOLLIPOPS
vampire, Trueblood, Twilight, sugar, sweet, candy, \r\nThese are my Twilight "inspired" Vampire Blood Lollipops. Who doesn't love Edward -right! I promise these are so easy to make and with the premier of Twilight on November 20th just a few short days away, these lollipops would make a great treat!! They turn your mouth a bright blood red. Have fun and enjoy!!!

Steps:
- Makes about 12 lollipops * 2 cups sugar * 4 tbsp light corn syrup * red food coloring * white lollipops stick - you can find them at your local craft store. You can even add flavor oils like peppermint or strawberry if you like.
- Getting the sugar melted Bring sugar, corn syrup, and 1/4 cup water to a boil in a small saucepan, stirring until all the sugar is dissolved completely. If you have a candy thermometer it will register 300 degrees to 310 degrees (hard-crack stage), 5 to 7 minutes. While the sugar is boiling lay out your lollipop sticks onto a silicon baking mat (I put my baking mat onto a cookie sheet to make it easier to move around and a nice hard level surface.)
- The ice water bath Once you have placed your lollipop sticks down - Fill a larger pot with ice water. When your sugar mixture is ready - 300 degrees to 310 degrees, immediately set the pan into ice-water bath to stop the cooking (syrup will steam vigorously - be careful of the steam it will be very hot!); let sit about 25 seconds. Swirl pan 1 minutes more to cool - it while still be bubbling, that's OK .
- Pour and add the blood Working very quickly, pour syrup onto the silicon baking sheets, forming circles (2 to 31/2 inches in diameter) and spacing pours about 3 inches apart - then press in lollipop sticks. I went very randomly - wherever there was space I made a lollipop. The fun part With the red food coloring - squirt a few drops in to each lollipop (I would do one at a time to make it easier to work with), using one of the lollipop sticks drags the stick through some of the food coloring to get the desired look for the "blood". I add a few more drops to the blood coagulated look.
- Let it cool Let stand for about 5 - 10 minutes for the sugar to harden completely.
- Share your blood lollipops Now - go out there and share your blood lollipops! And have fun watching Twilight on the 20th!!

Steps:
- Mix the juices together. Add the sorbet, softened, and stir until it disappears. Add the seltzer.
- Before serving, chill with the Body Part Cubes of floating face and hands.
- Pour into glasses and stir with glow stick swizzle sticks.
- Color the cold water with enough green food coloring to make it stand out against the background of the punch.
- Use packing tape to seal of the eyes, nose and mouth openings of the mask. Line the inside of mask with plastic wrap to prevent leaking. Place it in a bowl that will hold the mask as still as possible while freezing.
- Fill with the colored water up to the line of the mask, making sure not to spill over if possible. Place bowl in freezer to solidify, at least 24 hours. Fill 2 food service gloves with colored water and twist and knot opening closed to make a tight seal. Freeze gloves for 12 to 24 hours.
- When frozen, cut plastic gloves off. Take ice out of mask, putting hot water on the outside of the mask, if necessary, to help it come out easily.
- Carefully float the face and hands in the punch.

MAKE FAKE BLOOD WITH 8 DIFFERENT RECIPES
From thesprucecrafts.com
- Bright Red Spray Bottle Blood. This is one of the simplest fake blood recipes. Since it is water-based, it is great for loading up a misting bottle and hosing down a zombie costume and makeup or the walls of a haunted house.
- Dark, Thin Blood. This dark red blood has a thin consistency so that it can be spattered easily and will look like old blood on clothing. To spatter blood, dip a paintbrush into the mixture, then tap the paintbrush over the area that you want a spray of blood at.
- Realistic Fake Blood. For a realistic look, the blood needs to have more color than pure red. A corn syrup base gives this recipe a good thickness, but it is also sticky.
- Gross Gore Blood. With little flecks of nastiness, this is one of the grossest blood recipes that we've have come up with. It incorporates onion flakes to give it some extra scab and debris effect.
- Fake Flesh. Corn starch is a magical thing. Here, you'll use it to make a rubbery flesh to add to your gross-out blood recipes. It is also a finicky medium, so follow the mixing instructions to get a good consistency.
- Thick Dripping Blood. Thin blood doesn't look too good when you want a dripping wall or drips down your face. Use this thick blood recipe to make a slow-flow of gore.
- Fake Scabs. These are so gross, your mom won't even mind if you pick at them. The extra onion flakes in this recipe make for a super-gross scab action.
- Fake Guts. This chunky substance can be used to gross out your Halloween party guests. Put it in bowls on the table or drip it onto your unsuspecting store-bought severed heads and such.
