VALENTINE CANDY CONES
These are so neat! My sister sent me pictures of these, and they are just darling! She is making them for Valentine's Day with her grandkids. Really cute thing to do with kids. You could probably make things for other holidays such as little eggs for an Easter cone,or candy corn for a Thanksgiving cone! They're really easy and would take no time at all. Note** the amounts of M&M's are a guestimate. You can use more or less accordingly.

Steps:
- Loosely wrap 1/2 cup of M&M'S® Brand Chocolate
- Candies for Valentine's Day in plastic wrap and tape it closed.
- Set the wrapped candy on top of a cone.
- Cover the candy with cellophane and tie with a ribbon.
- Repeat steps 1 through 3 to fill the remaining cones.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 350°F. Make cake batter as directed on box. Fill 12 cones about half full of batter. Stand cones in muffin pan. Refrigerate any leftover batter until ready to fill and bake remaining cones.
- Bake 21 to 26 minutes or until toothpick carefully inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
- Frost with frosting and decorate. Store loosely covered.

- Before beginning I recommend getting your piping bag ready and the cones ready. I found it was easiest to insert the cones into a container (baking pan) filled with rice. This kept them upright to make drying easy. You can color the marshmallow mixture but then you're restricted to only one color. Instead I used Wilton Color Mist. I treated the mist like it was spray paint and made a spray box. That just means I used a box to color the cones. It helped with containing the spray from getting all over the kitchen counter.
- Whisk together in a small bowl the gelatin and cold water. Let stand 5 minutes or until the gelatin has absorbed the liquid.
- In a medium saucepan combine sugar 1/4 cup corn syrup, water and salt. Insert a candy thermometer. Over medium high heat bring to a boil. Meanwhile, pour the remaining 1/4 cup corn syrup in a large mixing bowl of a standing mixer fitted with the whisk attachment. Heat the gelatin in the microwave until melted (about 30 seconds). Pour into the mixing bowl with the corn syrup. Turn mixer on low and keep it stirring until the sugar syrup is ready.
- When the syrup reaches 240° (soft ball stage), slowly pour the syrup into the mixer bowl, Increase the speed to medium and beat 5 minutes, then increase to medium high and beat 5 more minutes, Finally, increase to the highest speed and beat 1-2 minutes, add vanilla then beat again to 1-2 minutes. The mixture should be opaque and tripled in volume.
