Number Of Ingredients 6

1 cup half-and-half
3 large eggs
2 tablespoons honey, warmed in microwave for 20 seconds

Place 2 slices of bread at a time into the pan and cook until golden brown, approximately 2 to 3 minutes per side. Remove from pan and place on rack in oven for 5 minutes. Repeat with all 8 slices. Serve immediately with maple syrup, whipped cream or fruit.

ULTIMATE FRENCH TOAST

Ultimate French Toast image

My wife and I use to make French Toast with french bread and other types of white bread until our dear friends in Florida introduced us to Hawaiian Bread for making this dish. It has a unique flavor unlike any other French Toast we have had.

Provided by akbishop8285

Categories     Breakfast

Time 18m

Yield 16 slices, 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 loaf Hawaiian bread
6 eggs
2 cups whole milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
butter
confectioners' sugar
syrup

Steps:

  • Set pancake griddle to its highest setting while preparing the batter of eggs, milk and vanilla. Use a beater and blend thoroughly. After preparing the batter cut the bread into 1" slices lenghtwise and then in half.
  • Dip bread slices in batter, making sure to coat both sides. Place slices on griddle and cook about 3-4 minutes per side. Peek once and a while to make sure they are not burning or getting to dark. Once the bread is flipped place a small pat of butter on each while the bottom is browning.
  • Remove from griddle and dust with confectioner's sugar or syrup.
