- Arrange whole potato chips in a single layer on a large platter. In a large saucepan, combine caramels and cream. Cook and stir over medium-low heat until caramels are melted. Drizzle over chips., In a microwave, melt chocolate and shortening; stir until smooth. Drizzle over caramel mixture; sprinkle with pecans. Serve immediately.

- In a large microwave-safe bowl, mix the cereal and pecans. In a 2-cup glass measuring cup, combine brown sugar, butter, corn syrup and salt; microwave, uncovered, on high until smooth, stirring once, 1-2 minutes.
- Whisk in baking soda. Pour over the cereal mixture and toss to coat. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 2 minutes, stirring every minute.
- Spread onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet; immediately sprinkle with chocolate and caramel (do not stir). Refrigerate until chocolate is set. Break into pieces. Stir in pretzels. store in an airtight container.
