This Tropical Dump Cake recipe is so good!

1 15.5 ounce can crushed pineapple
1 15.25 ounce can tropical fruit salad
1 box yellow cake mix
1 ½ sticks butter, melted
½ cup shredded sweetened coconut

Steps:

  • 1.Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees and grease your dish. 2.Take and pour the crushed pineapple and fruit cocktail plus the juices into the dish. 3.Take your dry cake mix and put it on top of the fruit, covering it all the way. 4.Once that is done, take and spoon the melted butter over the cake mix. 5.Take and put the cake into the oven and bake for 45 minutes. 6.Once done, take the cake from the oven and sprinkle the coconut on top. Then, put the cake back in the oven and bake for another 10 minutes, until the coconut and the cake are brown.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple, not drained
1 (15 oz) can mandarin oranges, in light syrup, drained
1/3 cup spiced rum
1 box yellow cake mix
1 cup unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups sweetened coconut

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Spray a 9x13 inch pan with baking spray.
  • Dump the can of pineapple and can of mandarin oranges into a large bowl.
  • Mix in the spiced rum.
  • Pour spiked fruit into the pan and spread with a spatula to make even.
  • Sprinkle cake mix over the fruit, doing your best to evenly distribute the mix.
  • Drizzle butter evenly as best you can over the cake mix.
  • Sprinkle the coconut on top of the butter covered cake mix.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes.
  • Remove from oven.
  • You can serve dump cake warm or cold. I prefer mine warm for dessert and cold for breakfast. ????
  • Serve with ice cream or whipped cream for extra yumminess.

1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple with juice
1 (18 ounce) box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, cut into pieces
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, melted
1 cup flaked coconut
1 cup chopped pecans (optional) or 1 cup nuts (optional)

Steps:

  • Grease 9 by 13 inch baking pan.
  • Dump into pan and spread evenly in this order: cherry pie filling, undrained pineapple, dry cake mix.
  • Arrange pieces of butter on top.
  • Pour 1/2 cup melted butter over cake mix.
  • Top with 1 cup flaked coconut and 1 cup chopped pecans.
  • DO NOT MIX!
  • Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour.

My sister-in-law found this in her grandmother's recipe box and shared it with the rest of the family. It has become one of our favorites.

1 (18 ounce) box yellow cake mix with pudding
1 cup vegetable oil
1 (15 ounce) can mandarin oranges (with juice)
4 eggs
1 (16 ounce) container Cool Whip
1/2-1 cup shredded coconut
1 (3 1/2 ounce) box instant vanilla pudding
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple

Steps:

  • Mix first four ingredients, using only the juice from the oranges, reserving oranges to add later.
  • After mixed well, gently fold in oranges.
  • Bake in a 9x13 pan at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until done.
  • Cool completely!
  • Mix remaining four ingredients and spread over cake.
  • Refrigerate for one hour and serve cold.

15 oz tropical fruit
1 pkg orange cake mix
1 1/2 stick butter
1/2 c instant oatmeal
1 c coconut flakes

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350. Dump both of the fruits and their juices into a 9x12 pyrex baking dish. Pour the dry cake mix on top of the fruit and spread out evenly.
  • 2. Mix oatmeal, coconut and sprinkle over cake mix with fingers. Melt butter and pour on top evenly. It should cover the entire cake mix. Bake for 1 hour and serve with ice cream.

  • First, drain all of the juice from the tropical fruit and maybe 1/3 of the juice from the pineapple into a bowl. Add the corn starch and sugar and mix well...there should be no lumps. Put in a pan (I like using a small omelet pan, but a sauce pan would work too) over low to medium heat with 2tbsp. of the butter and thicken up...it should become the consistency of pie filling. Add a little more corn starch if it doesn't get thick enough.
  • In the meantime, dump the rest of the fruit (with the remaining juice) in a greased Pyrex dish (I really have no idea what size it is...not the biggest one in the Pyrex set, but the next biggest).
