TROPICAL MARTINI
This is a dessert in a glass! The grenadine looks beautiful, plus it balances out the fruit juices to give it a wonderful full-body flavor, so don't skip this step! Garnishes are welcome, for example: whole strawberry on the side of the glass, chunk of fresh pineapple, etc.

TROPICAL CREAM MARTINI
Nothing really martini-like about this drink, except it is served in a martini glass. Doesn't matter because I think it is a great drink.

From thespruceeats.com
- Bahama Mama. Coconut and pineapple are a natural pairing for tropical cocktails. Popular recipes like the Bahama mama rely on this matchup and it's the perfect beach drink.
- Coconut Martini. This is no ordinary coconut martini recipe. Inside this glass, you'll find a sort of inverted Piña Colada with just a hint of pineapple.
- Coconut Key Lime Momtini. When you're in the mood for a tropical drink without the liquor, mix up a coconut key lime momtini. It's a fun twist on the average coconut cocktail, featuring limeade, coconut milk, and key lime juice.
- Batida. The caipirinha is not the only cocktail that's a hot commodity in Brazil. The country also boasts about the sweet, refreshing taste of the batida.
- Coco Light Martini. The creamy coconut cocktails are fantastic, but sometimes you want that same flavor in a lighter form. In this case, turn to the refreshing coco light martini.
- Rock Lobster. When it's time to pull out the blender, few drinks are as fun to share with friends as the rock lobster. This frosty mix of coconut rum, banana liqueur, grenadine, pineapple, and orange is always a hit.
- California Surfer. There are times when you just want to pour, mix, and drink. This is when a recipe like the California surfer comes in handy. It's a favorite bar drink that's beyond simple, too.
- Christmas Margarita. This snowy white take on a margarita is made with coconut milk, lime juice, tequila, orange liqueur, and white cranberry juice. It has all the flavors you want from a margarita plus a bit of creaminess and natural sweetness from the coconut.
- Bushwacker. It's time to skip the coconut and enjoy a very fun frozen cocktail with a little chocolate in the mix. The Bushwacker is a great recipe that mixes up dark rum, coffee and chocolate liqueurs, cream of coconut, and milk.
- Holiday Spice. The coconut should not be reserved for the sweltering days of summer. There's no reason you can't bring it into the holiday season as well.
12 ESSENTIAL AND POPULAR TROPICAL RUM COCKTAILS
From thespruceeats.com
- Mai Tai. The mai tai embodies this style of cocktail perfectly. It is the creation of Victor Bergeron, one of the founders of the tropic-themed bars that first brought these drinks to the American public.
- Zombie. Donn Beach of the famous Donn the Beachcomber bar was Bergeron's rival and the zombie is one of his original recipes. It is also among the most complex recipes you will come across.
- Hurricane. The hurricane remains the signature cocktail of Pat O'Brien's bar in New Orleans. It was first created around 1940 and you can still get the same great taste at any of the bar's locations in the U.S.
- Navy Grog. It was not uncommon for both Bergeron and Beach to take credit for the same cocktails and that is the case for this modernized navy grog recipe.
- Rum Runner. An enjoyable throwback drink from the 1950s, the rum runner is another example of a great drink with many recipes. In general, a rum runner should have rum, banana, and blackberry, but this is not always the case.
- Jungle Bird. Tropical cocktails are known for extravagant fruit garnishes, though few are as well-designed as the one found on the jungle bird. Themed appropriately, this more recent recipe comes from the Aviary Bar in Kuala Lumpur where it was created in the '70s.
- Painkiller. Painkiller recipes do not vary as much as the other cocktails. You're pretty safe in stocking from this recipe's ingredient list because any variations are just a matter of changing proportions.
- Scorpion. The scorpion is a potent mixed drink in which brandy makes an appearance. It should not be too surprising because brandy had been mixed with tropical and citrus fruits long before the tiki bars were even a dream.
- Blue Hawaiian. The blue Hawaiian is mellow compared to the other cocktails and it is a stunning shade of green-blue. This is the ultimate poolside drink and it's very easy to shake up.
- Beachcomber. The beachcomber is the lightest of these tropical cocktails and it is the only one not served in a tall glass. It is much more like a rum sour, made of light rum, triple sec, lime juice, and maraschino liqueur.
