CHEERIOS™ AND TRIX™ TREAT BARS



Cheerios™ and Trix™ Treat Bars image

There are no tricks to making easy no-bake bars. Just use your favorite cereals!

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/4 cup margarine or butter
4 cups miniature marshmallows or 1 pkg (10 oz) large marshmallows
3 cups Cheerios™ Cereal
3 cups Trix™ Cereal
1 cup salted peanuts

Steps:

  • Spray 9-inch square pan with nonstick cooking spray; spray back of large spoon with cooking spray. Melt margarine in large saucepan over medium heat. Add marshmallows; cook until melted, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Gently stir in cereals and peanuts.
  • Pour mixture into sprayed pan. With sprayed back of spoon, press mixture evenly in pan. Cool 30 minutes or until completely cooled.
  • Cut into bars; wrap individually in plastic wrap.

Trix Treats image

Variation on rice crispy treats, taken from the back of a Food Lion brand Trix knock-off cereal box. The lemonade really makes it different.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1/4 cup margarine or 1/4 cup butter
35 large marshmallows
2 tablespoons sweetened lemonade drink mix
7 cups Trix cereal

Steps:

  • Butter or spray a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  • Melt margarine in a large saucepan over low heat.
  • Add marshmallows, stirring constantly until melted. Remove from heat.
  • Stir in drink mix.
  • Quickly add cereal, stirring until all pieces are evenly coated.
  • Pour into baking pan, cover with wax paper and press cereal mixture down firmly into pan.
  • Allow to cool, remove wax paper and cut into squares.
  • Enjoy!

Try out this Trix™ rabbit approved game day recipe for your movie night. Fruity with a touch of sweet and sour, these colorfully fun Trix™ cereal bars may just be your new favorite!

1/4 cup butter
4 cups miniature marshmallows
6 1/2 cups Trix™ cereal
1/4 cup tiny, tangy, crunchy rainbow candy
1 tablespoon colored candy sprinkles (blue, purple, orange)

Steps:

  • Line 9-inch square pan with foil, leaving enough to hang over sides of pan for easy removal; spray with cooking spray.
  • In large microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High 30 to 45 seconds or until melted. Add marshmallows to bowl, stirring to coat. Microwave 60 to 90 seconds or until mixture is melted and can be stirred smooth. Stir in cereal and rainbow candy.
  • With greased hands or waxed paper, firmly press mixture in pan; immediately sprinkle with candy sprinkles, pressing lightly to stick. Cool 30 minutes; remove from pan, and discard foil. Cut into 4 rows by 4 rows.
