1 cup margarine
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon salt, '
1 cup sugar
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup pecans, finely chopped

Steps:

  • Combine first three ingredients and blend well. Gradually add sugar and flour. Add chocolate chips and 3/4 cup of the nuts.
  • Press evenly into lightly greased 15 X 10 inch pan. Sprinkle with remaining nuts and press lightly.
  • Bake at 375 degrees on top rack for 10 minutes. Turn off oven and leave in for a remaining 30 minutes.

1 (6-ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 cup finely chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine butter, vanilla, and salt on bowl, and blend well. Gradually beat in sugar. Add flour, chocolate morsels, and 3/4 cup walnuts; mix well. Press evenly into ungreased 15x10x1 pan. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup walnuts over top and press in lightly. Bake at 375°F for 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool, then break in pieces.
