Toaster Oven Garlic Fries image

Enjoy less grease and calorie guilt with toaster oven baked french fries, roasted garlic, fresh parsley and plenty of sea salt.

Provided by Brie Norris

Categories     Baked Potato Recipes

Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/4 cup minced parsley, (about 1/2 cup loosely packed parsley with stems)
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 cloves of Roasted Garlic
2 Medium Potatoes, (about 10 ounces)
2 teaspoons olive oil
Salt
Pepper
1 small or medium head of garlic
1-2 teaspoons olive oil, (amount will depend on the size of the garlic)

Steps:

  • Preheat toaster oven to 425 F, line baking sheet with foil* and lightly grease.
  • Remove flaky skin from the garlic and slice the top off keeping the whole head intact. Place garlic over a piece of foil and drizzle with olive oil filling the head to the top. Wrap garlic tightly in foil and set aside on prepared baking sheet (do not put in the oven yet).
  • Wash and slice the potatoes into sticks. Place sliced potatoes in a bowl and toss with oil, salt and pepper. Arrange potatoes in a single layer on the baking sheet with wrapped garlic. Bake at 425 F for 30 to 35 minutes turning the fries once around the 15 minute mark.
  • When done, the fries will be browned, crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. The garlic cloves will be golden and soft, the largest clove should mush under the pressure of a knife. Allow garlic to cool slightly before handling. To remove individual cloves, hold the garlic head and gently press your thumb upwards against the bottom of the clove, it will pop right out.
  • To make the topping, mince the parsley (including stems) and 2 cloves of the roasted garlic. Add the minced parsley and garlic to a small bowl. Stir in olive oil and salt. Pour over warm fries and serve.

TOASTER OVEN ROASTED GARLIC CLOVES

Toaster Oven Roasted Garlic Cloves image

If you're cooking for one, it really doesn't make sense to heat up your big oven just to roast some garlic cloves. You can do this directly in your toaster oven with just a few easy steps. Best of all, there's no preheating your oven!

Provided by Tiz4tggr

Categories     Onions

Time 32m

Yield 1 Each, 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

8 large garlic cloves, peeled and root end removed
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pinch salt
10 (10 inch) piece aluminum foil

Steps:

  • It's very important that you don't use the rack that comes with the toast oven, but rather the baking/broiling pan. Since the packets have oil, you don't want that accidentally spilling in your oven or it might start a fire.
  • Place garlic cloves in the middle of aluminum foil, making sure they are in a single layer.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and salt.
  • Fold up making sure all sides are secure and tight. It should be a flat packet.
  • Place on toaster ovens baking/broiling pan on lower or middle rack.
  • Set temp at 350 degrees and timer for 30 minutes.
  • After timer goes off, let sit in oven for 10 minutes.

  • Put The Fries On a Rack. As we mentioned earlier, frozen fries release moisture as they cook. When they’re baked on a sheet pan, the air can only flow over the exposed sides.
  • Convection Is A Frozen Fry’s Best Friend. Baked fries won’t ever taste as good as fried but with your toaster oven’s convection fan they get pretty darn close.
  • Raid The Spice Rack. Do you season your fries before or after baking? If you struggle with getting spices to stick to freshly baked fries try adding a little oil and your favorite spice blend before baking them.
