- Mix together the eggs and water, set aside.
- combine the Italian bread crumbs, garlic powder, dried oregano and dried parsley.
- salt and pepper to taste.
- in a separate container, mix flour and cornstarch.
- cut mozzarella cheese into any desired shape, rectangle strips are traditional.
- One at a time, dip mozarella slices into the egg mixture, then the breadcrumbs, then the flour.
- fry sticks at 375 F until golden brown and serve with desired dipping sauce.

Steps:
- Cut mozzarella cheese into sticks (approximately 3*1/2*1/2-inches).
- Place flour in one bowl, the egg in another bowl and the bread crumbs and oregano in another bowl.
- Dredge each piece of cheese into flour to coat.
- Dip floured cheese stick into egg, then dredge in bread crumb mixture.
- Place on a plate in a single layer.
- Refrigerate for 1 hour.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil or shortening, 1/2-inch deep to 350°F.
- Fry mozzarella sticks a few pieces at a time until browned on all sides (about 3 minutes).
- Drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with lemon wedges or marinara sauce for dipping.
- ~NOTE~ Preparation time includes 1 hour refrigeration time.

TGI FRIDAY'S FRIED MOZZARELLA CHEESE STICKS
Fried mozzarella cheese sticks are one of the most popular appetizers out there. You can make and enjoy these from TGI Fridays at home.

Steps:
- Cut cheese into long slices approximately 3/8 inch thick.
- Blend together the flour and cornstarch in a bowl.
- Place a cheese slice into the flour, then dip into a bowl of whole milk, and then dip into the breadcrumbs.
- Shake off excess breadcrumbs and place mozzarella stick on a wire rack.
- Repeat until all cheese sticks have been dipped once. Discard the flour.
- Place cheese sticks back into milk, then into bread crumbs for the second time, and shake off the bread crumbs.
- Heat vegetable oil to 350 for frying.
- Drop a few cheese sticks into hot oil and fry until golden brown. This should take no longer than 1 minute.
- Remove cheese sticks from the oil and place them on a wire rack.
- Repeat frying in batches with remaining breaded cheese sticks.
- Serve with your favorite marinara sauce.

- In a small bowl, mix the eggs and water.
- Mix the bread crumbs and garlic salt in a medium bowl. In a medium bowl, blend the flour and cornstarch.
- In a large heavy saucepan, heat the oil to 365 degrees F (185 degrees C).
- One at a time, coat each mozzarella stick in the flour mixture, then the egg mixture, then in the bread crumbs and finally into the oil. Fry until golden brown, about 30 seconds. Remove from heat and drain on paper towels.

Steps:
- Cut cheese into 2-1/2 x 1/2-inch sticks.
- Dust with flour.
- Dip in beaten egg and then into breadcrumbs.
- Press crumbs around cheese; dip again in egg mixture and then crumbs once again to make a firm coating.
- Make sure all the cheese has a good coating of the bread crumbs.
- Refrigerate until time to serve.
- Heat deep fryer to 375 degrees.
- Fry 3 or 4 at a time, turning once if necessary, until desired browness is reached.
- Remove and drain on papertowels.
- Repeat until all are cooked.
- For dip, combine remaining ingredients and serve as a dip for cheese or dip in your favorite marinara sauce.

FRIED MOZZARELLA STICKS

- In medium heavy-bottom saucepan or electric skillet, heat oil to 375 degrees.
- In bag, shake cheese with flour until well coated. In shallow bowl, beat eggs with water.
- In second shallow bowl, combine bread crumbs, seasoned salt, and garlic powder. Dip coated cheese sticks, one at a time, in egg mixture, then roll in crumb mixture until well coated.
- Place cheese sticks on large baking sheet and chill one hour.
- Fry sticks 3 or 4 at a time in hot oil about 3 to 5 seconds or until golden brown. Remove with slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve with favorite dipping sauce such as Marinara Sauce.

- Cut the cheese into 8 3 1/2/x 1/2x1/2" sticks.
- Put flour into shallow dish and dredge the mozzarella sticks lightly in flour, shaking off the excess.
- One by one, dip in the beaten egg, coating completely, and then roll in bread crumbs to coat.
- Put the sticks on a plate and freeze for 15 minutes.
- Heat a deep fryer or heavy pot to 365 in 3 inches of oil.
- Fry the mozzarella sticks in 2 batches until golden brown, about 1 minute.

Steps:
- Stir the bread crumbs, 1 cup of Parmesan and 1 teaspoon of salt in a medium bowl to blend.
- Dip the cheese in the eggs to coat completely and allow the excess egg to drip back into the bowl.
- Coat the cheese in the bread crumb mixture, patting to adhere and coat completely. Place the cheese sticks on a baking sheet.
- Repeat dipping the cheese sticks in the egg and bread crumb mixture to coat a second time.
- Cover and freeze until frozen, about 2 hours and up to 2 days.
- Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
- Working in batches, fry the cheese until golden brown, about 1 minute per side.
- Transfer the fried cheese to plates. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese and serve with the Marinara Sauce.
- Marinara Sauce:.
- In a large casserole pot, heat the oil over a medium-high flame.
- Add the onions and garlic and sauté until the onions are translucent, about 10 minutes.
- Add the celery, carrots, and 1/2 teaspoon of each salt and pepper. Sauté until all the vegetables are soft, about 10 minutes.
- Add the tomatoes and bay leaves, and simmer uncovered over low heat until the sauce thickens, about 1 hour.
- Remove and discard the bay leaf. Season the sauce with more salt and pepper, to taste. (The sauce can be made 1 day ahead. Cool, then cover and refrigerate. Rewarm over medium heat before using).
