Three-Cheese Pasta Bake image

This delicious variation on traditional macaroni and cheese is easy to prepare and perfect for weeknight family dinners and weekend entertaining alike. Add cooked chicken, shrimp, or sausage to the pasta bake and serve with a green salad and fresh vegetables for a hearty, well-rounded meal.

1 (16-ounce) package ziti
2 (10-ounce) containers refrigerated Alfredo sauce
1 (8-ounce) container sour cream
1 (15-ounce) container ricotta cheese
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Prepare ziti according to package directions; drain and return to pot.
  • Stir together Alfredo sauce and sour cream; toss with ziti until evenly coated. Spoon half of mixture into a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish.
  • Stir together ricotta cheese and next 3 ingredients; spread evenly over pasta mixture in baking dish. Spoon remaining pasta mixture evenly over ricotta cheese layer; sprinkle evenly with mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until bubbly.
  • Note: For testing purposes only, we used Buitoni Refrigerated Alfredo Sauce.

1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
6 ½ cups tomato pasta sauce
6 ounces provolone cheese, thinly sliced
1 ½ cups sour cream
6 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook pasta in boiling water until al dente. Drain.
  • Meanwhile, cook ground meat and onion in a skillet over medium heat, stirring frequently, until meat is browned. Stir in pasta sauce, reduce heat, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer the ingredients in the prepared baking dish as follows: half of the cooked pasta, all the provolone cheese, all the sour cream, half of the sauce mixture, remaining pasta, mozzarella cheese, and remaining sauce mixture. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until bubbly.

1-1/2 cups penne pasta, uncooked
1 pkg. (9 oz.) spinach leaves
1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 jar (24 oz.) CLASSICO Tomato and Basil Pasta Sauce
1 can (14.5 oz.) Italian-style diced tomatoes, undrained
1/2 cup (1/2 of 8-oz. tub) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese Spread
1/2 cup KRAFT Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
1/3 cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375ºF.
  • Cook pasta in large saucepan as directed on package, adding spinach to the boiling water for the last minute. Meanwhile, cook and stir chicken and garlic in large nonstick skillet sprayed with cooking spray on medium-high heat 3 min. or until chicken is browned. Stir in pasta sauce and tomatoes; bring to boil. Simmer on medium-low heat 3 min. Remove from heat; stir in cream cheese spread until melted.
  • Drain pasta mixture well; return to saucepan. Stir in chicken mixture and mozzarella. Spoon into 13x9-inch baking dish; top with Parmesan.
  • Bake 10 to 15 min. or until heated through.

For all you pasta lovers out there like me, here is a healthy pasta recipe, with lots of cheese and super high in protein!

Number Of Ingredients 11

310 grams Tomato Sauce / Marinara Sauce I used my moms Homemade Red Sauce
1 package 99% lean ground turkey 556 grams
1 Box Chickpea Pasta Banza, or normal pasta will work but nutrition will change
1/2 chopped onion 170 grams
1 Yellow/ summer squash 288 grams
28 grams Fat free mozzarella
135 grams Fat free Ricotta Cheese
5 grams Shredded Pecorino Romano Cheese
1/2 tbsp red pepper flakes
1/2 tbsp garlic powder
1/2 tbsp dried oregano

Steps:

  • Begin by preheating your oven to 350 and greasing a large baking dish (9x13)
  • Bring about 8 cups of water to a boil.
  • Place a pot over medium heat and chop the onion. Spray the pan and add in the onion.
  • Once the onion is cooked you can add in the ground turkey, breaking it up into small pieces.
  • If your water has come to a boil, add the pasta and cook for 5 minutes and drain.
  • While this is cooking, chop the summer squash and add into the pot when the turkey is cooked through.
  • Add in the red sauce and spices. Bring to a simmer.
  • When it has come to a simmer turn the stove off and stir in the cooked pasta.
  • Transfer this to the baking dish.
  • Mix the ricotta cheese with the romano cheese and stir together.
  • Dollop the ricotta cheese mixture on top of the pan.
  • Lastly, sprinkle with the mozzarella shreds.
  • Cover and bake for 30 minutes, remove the foil at 25 minutes allowing the cheese to brown a bit.
  • Divide and serve or prep for the week!

1 lb macaroni noodles or 1 lb other small shell pasta
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
4 cups 2% low-fat milk
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
8 ounces cream cheese
1 1/2 cups old cheddar cheese, grated
1 cup swiss gruyere, grated
1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add macaroni and boil, uncovered, until just tender to taste. Drain, rinse with cold water and set aside.
  • Preheat oven to 350 F (180 C).
  • In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat and add flour. Stir with a wooden or non-reactive spoon until mixture has a lightly nutty aroma but no colour, about 5 minutes.
  • Slowly whisk in milk, then bring entire mixture up to a simmer, whisking constantly. If lumps do occur, strain and return to heat. Add nutmeg and whisk in cream cheese until smooth. Reduce heat to medium-low and stir in cheddar until melted.
  • Stir in cooked macaroni and spoon into an 8-cup (2 L) baking dish. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until bubbling around the edges.
  • Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
