The Elvis Peanut Butter Banana Bread Recipes

Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter, softened
8 slices white bread
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
1 large, ripe banana, sliced
1/4 cup honey
12 slices bacon, Sauteed until crispy (optional)

Steps:

Spread the butter on 1 side of each slice of bread. On the other side of half of the slices spread peanut butter. Place banana slices on top of peanut butter. Drizzle honey over bananas. Place 3 bacon slices on top of the banana, then place the remaining buttered bread slices on top, butter-side-out.
Place sandwiches on a preheated grill pan or griddle. Flip them over when they become golden brown and crispy. When the sandwiches are browned on both sides, remove to plates. Slice in half and serve immediately.

1 3/4 cup(s) flour
1 1/4 teaspoon(s) baking powder
1/2 teaspoon(s) baking soda
3/4 teaspoon(s) salt
1/3 cup(s) shortening (crisco)
2/3 cup(s) sugar
2 - beaten eggs
3 medium ripe bananas (black)
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
1 cup(s) peanut butter chips
4-5 slice(s) cooked and crumbled bacon (optional)

Steps:

sift flour, salt, baking powder and soda. set aside.
cream shortening add sugar and eggs. add flour and mix
pour into prepared 9x5 loaf pan and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour. start checking bread for doneness at around 50 minutes. not sure why and it doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes if I let this go for the full 60 minutes it overcooks. so I just start watching it after 50
