nonstick cooking spray
1/2 cup unsalted butter
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, broken in pieces
1 3/4 cups dark brown sugar
1 pinch salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 eggs
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Coat a 9-inch-square baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • In a large, heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat, begin melting the butter.
  • When it is half melted, add the chocolate.
  • Remove from heat and stir until the butter and chocolate are completely melted.
  • Stir in the sugar, salt, vanilla and eggs until smooth.
  • Stir in the flour until well-combined.
  • Mix in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour and scrape the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the top is dry but the center is still damp.
  • Do not overbake.
  • Remove from the oven and cool on a rack until the brownies are cool and firm, about 30 minutes.

1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, melted
1 cup cocoa
2 cups white sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup cocoa
3 cups icing sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Combine flour, baking powder and salt (set aside).
  • Combine melted butter, cocoa, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
  • Blend dry mix into moist mixture.
  • Add nuts and pour batter into a greased 9x13-inch pan.
  • Bake at 350°F degrees for 35 minutes or until it just starts to pull away from sides.
  • ICING: Melt butter in saucepan with milk on medium/low.
  • Combine cocoa with sugar and stir into milk mixture.
  • Add vanilla and let cool till spreading consistency (will be runny at first).
  • Sprinkle with more nuts if desired.

I've made these for years. They're killer. I always cut these in BITE SIZE pieces. Put these out late in the evening at your next party. They will always disappear. Great for tailgating, school events, the holidays. The best browine recipe ever!

4 (1 ounce) unsweetened chocolate squares (4 oz.)
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 beaten eggs
2 teaspoons coffee liqueur
1 cup semisweet chocolate piece
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Melt chocolate and butter in small, heavy saucepan, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
  • Stir sugar and flour together in large mixing bowl. Add chocolate mixture, eggs, and liqueur, stirring well to combine. Stir in chocolate pieces and nuts.
  • Spread in buttered 13X9" baking pan. Bake for 35 minutes (NO LONGER, brownies will not look done). Cool 1 hour on wire rack, then cut into bite size pieces (be sure to cut into pieces before chilling or they will be very difficult to cut). Chill overnight before serving.
