2 good sized onions
1 egg slightly beaten
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup milk
2 T vegetable oil

Steps:

peel and slice onions fairly thick,at least 1/4 inch thick separate rings,refrigerate until ready to use beat egg, add rest of ingredients, mix well heat oil in large saucepan,filled half full. when oil is hot enough, dip onion rings into batter cook until golden brown on both sides

Ingredients

3/4 cup flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon cornmeal
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 -2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk
2 1/2 cups onions, finely chopped

Steps:

Mix together the dry ingredients, then add the milk.
This should make a fairly thick batter.
Add the onions and mix thoroughly.
Drop the batter by spoonsful into hot oil about an inch deep.
When golden on one side (about 3-4 minutes), turn them and flatten them into patties.
Fry until golden on the second side (about 3-4 minutes).
Drain on paper towels.
