TEXAS TOAST
I love Texas Toast and this is a recipe to make it at home. Known for its hearty thickness, Texas Toast is often served with ribs and other grilled meats and barbecue sauce. You can spread softened butter on both sides of the bread instead of using the cooking spray. If you don't have seasoned salt on hand, you can use garlic salt instead. You can also add cheese. Steps:
- Spray grill rack with cooking spray.
- Heat coals or gas grill.
- Spray both sides of bread slices with cooking spray.
- Sprinkle with seasoned salt.
- Grill bread uncovered 4 inches from medium heat 4 to 6 minutes, turning once, until golden brown.

LOADED TEXAS TOAST
Well as some of you parents may know, summer time can heighten your grocery bill. Well to remain consistent with your budget and not bored the kiddos with the same foods, my middle daughter and I created a new recipe that's gentle on the wallet and can be enjoyed by the entire family...We call it, "Loaded Texas Toast."

Steps:
- Spread sauce on each piece of toast.
- Add ingredients on to toast in no special order with shredded cheese off to the side.
- After adding ingredients, Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
- Place in oven for 7-8 minutes or until cheese is melted and bread starts to brown.
- Sprinkle with parmesan cheese after toast is out of the oven.
- Enjoy!

- Mash butter in a small bowl with the back of a spoon until soft and creamy. Stir in 2 teaspoons oil until combined. Add chives (or shallot), capers, 1 teaspoon marjoram (or oregano), 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest, lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Cover and place in the freezer to chill.
- Combine the remaining 1 teaspoon oil, 2 teaspoons marjoram (or oregano), 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest, 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper, rosemary and minced garlic in a small bowl. Rub on both sides of steak. Rub both sides of bread with the halved garlic clove; discard the garlic.
- Grill the steak 3 to 5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Grill the bread until toasted, 30 seconds to 1 minute per side. Divide watercress among 4 plates. Place 1 toast on each serving of watercress and top with steak. Spread the herb butter on top of the steaks and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
