Tequila Colada image

Version using tequila instead of rum, but if you are a colada purist, feel free to use your favorite rum instead.

1 1/2 ounces tequila
3 tablespoons well-blended coconut cream
1 ounce orange liqueur
1 ounce pineapple juice
1 ounce fresh lime juice
toasted coconut (to garnish) (optional)

Steps:

  • In a shaker half-full of ice, combine tequila, coconut cream, liqueur, and juices.
  • Shake well and strain into glass.
  • Sprinkle coconut on top.

  • Combine 5 ounces orange-pineapple juice, 2 ounces reposado tequila and 1 ounce cream of coconut in a shaker with ice and shake until cold, about 20 seconds. Strain into a glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a pineapple wedge.
