JAPANESE GINGER DIPPING SAUCE
If you prefer something different, this ginger sauce recipe is a good option if you want to make your teppanyaki dish extra special.

Steps:
- Mix together the white wine, mirin, and sake, and boil until the alcohol has burnt out. Then put the soy sauce in the pot.
- Allow the mixture to continue boiling for a couple of minutes to eliminate the harshness.
- Remove from the flame and add the grated spices. Leave it for 4 hours and strain.
TEPPANYAKI (MIXED BARBECUE)
You could substitute beef rump or sirloin steak for the eye fillet. Teppanyaki is traditionally cooked on a grill plate, on or near the table, and is eaten in batches; a portable electric grill is ideal. You can cook on a grill plate on the stove top or outside barbecue.

- Shell and devein prawns, leaving tails intact. Combine garlic, sauce and chilli in medium bowl, add prawns, chicken and beef, mix well; stand 15 minutes.
- Remove and discard mushroom stems; cut a cross in the top of caps.
- Cook ingredients, except green onions, in batches, on heated oil grill plate (or grill or barbecue) until vegetables are just tender, prawns and beef are cooked as desired and chicken is cooked through.
- Serve with green onion and individual bowls of dipping sauce.
- Dipping sauce Combine ingredients in a medium saucepan; cook, stirring, until sugar dissolves.

- Cut beef horizontally into 4 thin steaks. Combine beef, chicken, prawns, garlic, chilli, 2 tablespoons soy sauce and half the olive oil in a glass or ceramic dish. Cover and set aside.
- Combine sugar, mirin, ginger, sesame oil, sesame seeds and remaining soy sauce in a small serving dish. Set dipping sauce aside.
- Preheat a chargrill or barbecue over medium-high heat. Toss capsicum, carrot, corn and mushrooms with remaining oil in a large bowl. Cook, turning, for 5 minutes or until golden and tender. Transfer to a serving platter.
- Increase heat to high. Cook chicken and prawns for 2 minutes each side or until golden and cooked through. Cook beef for 30 seconds each side or until cooked to your liking. Transfer to serving platter. Serve grilled meats, seafood and vegetables with dipping sauce.
