CHICKEN & BISCUITS BAKE RECIPE BY TASTY

Here's what you need: butter, onion, flour, chicken broth, salt, pepper, heavy cream, frozen mixed vegetable, rotisserie chicken, biscuit dough

6 tablespoons butter
1 onion, chopped
½ cup flour
3 cups chicken broth
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 cup heavy cream
2 ½ cups frozen mixed vegetable
1 rotisserie chicken, shredded
2 tubes biscuit dough, 8 biscuits each

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350˚F (180˚C).
  • In a large pot over medium-high heat, melt the butter.
  • Add the onion, stir until softened. About 1 minute.
  • Whisk in the flour, stirring constantly to prevent the flour from browning. About 1 minute.
  • Whisk in the chicken broth, salt, and pepper. Continue to whisk until no lumps remain.
  • Whisk in the heavy cream. Bring to a light simmer until the sauce has thickened slightly. Test for additional salt/pepper.
  • Add the mixed vegetables and shredded chicken, stir until fully incorporated.
  • Transfer to a 9x13-inch (23x33 cm) baking dish.
  • Evenly top with 12 pieces of biscuit dough (you will have extra biscuits, which can be baked off separately).
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 20 minutes, until the biscuits are golden and the gravy mixture is bubbling.
  • Cool slightly before serving.

4 chicken breast halves, bone in
1 (.7 ounce) package dry Italian-style salad dressing mix
2 tablespoons cold water
2 tablespoons olive oil

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Empty contents of salad dressing mix package into a small bowl. Add water and mix well, then stir in olive oil and mix again. Note: DO NOT add vinegar as per package instructions.
  • Place chicken breasts 'wrong side up' in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Put 1/2 teaspoon of the dressing mixture on each breast and spread over the surface.
  • Bake at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 15 to 25 minutes, depending on the size of the breasts. Turn breasts over and spoon remaining mixture on to the topside. Bake for another 15 to 20 minutes, or until tops are golden brown and chicken is cooked through (juices run clear).

Very moist chicken. Serve with a cheesy side if desired. Being from the South, I serve this with garlic cheese grits! (Note: For a slight variation in taste, you can use lemon flavored oil.)

4 bone-in chicken breast halves, with skin
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pinch garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste
¾ cup Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Rub each chicken breast with olive oil, then place in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Season with garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste. Pour Worcestershire sauce over each breast. Cover dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Check chicken and remove cover if desired. Bake for another 15 minutes.

1/2 cup low-fat Italian salad dressing or 1/2 cup fat-free Italian salad dressing
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup fine chopped onion
1 teaspoon dry mustard

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350F and lightly spray a baking pan with cooking spray.
  • Mix the dressing with the soy sauce, onion and mustard.
  • Pour over the chicken, cover with foil and bake 40-50 minutes till browned.

2 teaspoons soy sauce
2 shallots, chopped

Steps:

  • Place the chicken in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Sprinkle with salt, tarragon, paprika and pepper. Combine the sherry, lemon juice and soy sauce; drizzle over chicken. Top with shallots., Bake, uncovered, at 425° for 20 minutes. Reduce heat to 375°. Cover and bake for 30 minutes, basting occasionally. Uncover; bake 15-20 minutes longer or until a thermometer reads 180°.
