2 tablespoons water
2-1/4 teaspoons grated Parmesan cheese
2-1/4 teaspoons seasoned bread crumbs
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1-1/2 teaspoons olive oil

Steps:

  • Place beans and water in a microwave-safe dish. Cover and microwave on high for 4-5 minutes or until crisp-tender. , Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the cheese, bread crumbs, garlic salt and pepper. Drain beans; drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with cheese mixture and toss to coat.

1 small onion, chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 to 3 garlic cloves, minced
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) stewed tomatoes, coarsely mashed
1/2 cup water
3 tablespoons minced fresh oregano or 1 tablespoon dried oregano
4-1/2 teaspoons minced fresh basil or 1-1/2 teaspoons dried basil
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
2 pounds fresh green beans, cut into 1-inch pieces
2 tablespoons grated Romano cheese

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, saute onion in oil until tender. Add garlic; saute 1 minute longer. Add the tomatoes, water, oregano, basil, sugar, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 40 minutes., Meanwhile, place beans in a large saucepan and cover with water; bring to a boil. Cook, uncovered, for 8-10 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain. Add tomato mixture and cheese; cook for 5 minutes or until heated through.

2 pounds frozen whole green beans
12 bacon strips, chopped
2 medium onions, halved and sliced
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1-1/4 cups water
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground mustard

Steps:

  • Cook beans according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a 6-qt. stockpot, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp, stirring occasionally. With a slotted spoon, remove bacon to paper towels; reserve drippings. , In same pan, saute onions in drippings over medium heat until tender and lightly browned, 7-9 minutes. In a bowl, whisk remaining ingredients until smooth; add to pan. Bring to a boil; cook and stir until thickened, 1-2 minutes., Drain beans and add to warm dressing; toss and heat through. 2 small green peppers such as jalapeno or serrano, stems and seeds removed, minced
2 teaspoons turmeric powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1/8 teaspoon cayenne
1 pound green beans, tough ends removed
1/4 cup water
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 tablespoons sesame seeds
1/4 cup clarified butter or vegetable oil
