Hot Cranberry Tea image

Cinnamon-infused cranberries combine with orange and lemon juices for a not-too-sweet beverage. The crimson color is perfect for the holiday season.-Sarah Dennis Scott, Murfreesboro, Tennessee

Yield 12 servings (3 quarts).

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 quarts water
4 cups fresh or frozen cranberries, thawed
2 cinnamon sticks (3 inches)
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons lemon juice

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, combine the water, cranberries and cinnamon. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 12-15 minutes or until berries pop, stirring occasionally., Remove from the heat. Discard cinnamon. Strain cranberry mixture through a cheesecloth-lined colander. Return to Dutch oven. Stir in the sugar, orange juice and lemon juice; heat through. Serve warm.

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 cups highbush cranberries
10 cups water, divided
2 to 3 cups sugar
1 cup red-hot candies
15 whole cloves
1 cup thawed orange juice concentrate
1/2 cup lemon juice

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, bring cranberries and 4 cups water to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer for 4 minutes or until berries pop. Press through a strainer; discard skins and seeds. Juice should measure about 4-1/2 cups; set aside., In another saucepan, combine the sugar, candies, cloves and remaining water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer for 5 minutes or until candies dissolve. Strain and discard cloves. Stir in the orange juice concentrate, lemon juice and reserved cranberry juice. Serve hot or chilled.

1 bottle (32 ounces) cranberry juice
2 cups sugar
1 can (6 ounces) frozen orange juice concentrate
3/4 cup thawed lemonade concentrate
1/3 cup red-hot candies
1 cinnamon stick
2 whole cloves

Steps:

  • In a 3-qt. saucepan, combine all ingredients; bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil for 7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove cinnamon and cloves. , To serve, mix 1 cup concentrate and 2 cups water; heat through. Store concentrate in a covered container in the refrigerator.

8 cups cranberry juice
4 cups orange juice
1/3 cup lemon juice

Steps:

  • In a Dutch oven, combine the water, sugar and cinnamon. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 25 minutes. , Discard cinnamon sticks. Stir juices into syrup mixture. Serve warm.

1 pound fresh or frozen cranberries
3 quarts cold water
2 cups orange juice
2 ⅛ cups pineapple juice
¼ cup lemon juice
2 cups white sugar, or to taste
1 (3 inch) cinnamon stick
1 teaspoon whole cloves
½ teaspoon whole allspice berries

Steps:

  • Place the cranberries and water into a large pot. Bring to a boil and cook just until the berries pop, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and let stand at room temperature until cold, several hours.
  • Strain out the cranberries and stir the orange juice, pineapple juice, lemon juice and sugar into the liquid. Add the cinnamon stick, whole cloves and allspice berries. Bring to a low boil. It is ready to serve at this point, but it is even better if you allow it to sit overnight.

Number Of Ingredients 8

3 cinnamon sticks (3 inches)
6 whole cloves
6 cups water
3 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
9 slices peeled fresh gingerroot
6 tea bags
6 cups unsweetened apple juice
1/3 cup honey

Steps:

  • Place cinnamon and cloves on a double thickness of cheesecloth. Bring up corners of cloth; tie with a string to form a bag., In a large saucepan, combine the water, cranberries and ginger; add spice bag. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until berries have popped, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat. Add tea bags; cover and steep for 5 minutes., Discard tea bags and spice bag. Strain cranberry mixture through a cheesecloth-lined colander. Return to saucepan. Stir in juice and honey; heat through. Serve warm.

Hey and if you`re trying to sell your house put this on.It will make the home buyer very comfortable. The spices can be played with. If you don`t like cloves leave them out.

10 cardamom pods (optional)
1 slice ginger (optional)
5 whole allspice (optional)
20 fluid ounces rum, 1 per mug (optional)

Steps:

  • Put all ingredients in a slow cooker on low.
  • I usually do the night before and wake to the wonderful scents coming from my kitchen.

1/3 cup no added sugar cranberry juice
1 sachet Pique Ginger Digestion Elixir
1 ounce vodka
1/2 cup ginger beer
1 tsp lime juice
For serving: sprig of rosemary,fresh cranberries, lime wheel

Steps:

  • Add ice to a Moscow Mule mug or cocktail glass. In a pint glass, dissolve Pique Ginger Digestion Elixir in cranberry juice. Add vodka and lime juice. Stir and pour over ice. Top with ginger beer. Garnish with rosemary, cranberries and lime.

1 (3 ounce) package cherry flavored Jell-O®
1 cup orange juice
¼ cup lemon juice
1 quart cranberry juice
½ cup white sugar

Steps:

  • Place the instant tea, allspice, cinnamon and nutmeg in a bag and steep in the boiling water for 5 minutes. Stir in the cherry gelatin and let mixture cool. Add the orange juice, lemon juice, cranberry juice and sugar. Mix until sugar is dissolved. Serve warm, keep any extra in the refrigerator.
