This zesty sauce is a favorite of all our family and friends. It's simple to make, and good with the turkey or on leftover turkey or chicken sandwiches. Adjust the amount of horseradish to taste.

4 cups fresh cranberries
2 cups water
1 ½ cups white sugar
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish

Steps:

  • Place cranberries and water in a medium saucepan. Over high heat, cook until the cranberries burst.
  • Lower heat to simmer. Stir in sugar. Continue cooking 15 minutes.
  • Allow mixture to cool. Stir in horseradish. Chill in the refrigerator until serving.

2 (8 ounce) cans pineapple tidbits, drained and patted dry
1 (16 ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce
¼ cup brown sugar
½ teaspoon ground ginger
¼ teaspoon salt
3 green onions, chopped
1 fresh jalapeno chile (or more to taste), seeded and chopped
1 sprig fresh rosemary

Steps:

  • Combine pineapple tidbits, cranberry sauce, brown sugar, ginger, and salt in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring often, until berries pop, about 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and mix in green onions and jalapeno peppers. Garnish with rosemary.

I had heard a local restaurant was selling pot roast with cranberry gravy. One day I had some leftover cranberry barbecue sauce and decided to try it over pot roast. It turned out tender, flavorful and delicious!-Jim Ulberg, Elk Rapids, Michigan

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 beef chuck roast (4 to 5 pounds)
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 medium onion
6 whole cloves
1 cup water
1 medium carrot, shredded
2 cinnamon sticks (3 inches)
1 can (14 ounces) whole-berry cranberry sauce
2 tablespoons cider vinegar

Steps:

  • Combine flour, salt and pepper; rub over roast. In a Dutch oven, brown roast in oil. Cut onion in half and stick the cloves into it. Add onion, water, carrot and cinnamon to pan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 2 hours, adding water if needed., Skim fat. Combine cranberry sauce and vinegar; pour over the roast. Cover and simmer 30-45 minutes longer or until meat is tender. Discard onion, cloves and cinnamon.

1 package (26 oz.) Rosina Turkey Meatballs
1 package brown gravy mix
¾ cup whole-berry cranberry sauce
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons heavy cream
¼ cup dried cranberries (optional)
1 tablespoon minced parsley (optional)

Steps:

  • DirectionsPlace frozen meatballs into the slow cooker and set aside. Make the brown gravy according to package instructions; stir in the cranberry sauce, mustard, and heavy cream to the gravy. Once well combined; pour the sauce over the meatballs and stir to coat evenly. Cover and cook on low setting for 4 to 5 hours, or on the high setting for 2 to 3 hours. To serve meatballs, use a slotted spoon to remove meatballs to a serving platter. Garnish with the dried cranberries and minced parsley if desired.

1 can (14-1/2 ounces) beef broth
Turkey giblets (liver removed)
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon sugar
3/4 cup cranberry juice
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 tablespoon butter

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, bring broth and giblets to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour. Strain and discard giblets; set broth aside. , In another saucepan, combine the cornstarch, sugar, cranberry juice and vinegar until smooth. Gradually stir in broth and butter. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.

1 12- ounce bag of fresh cranberries (rinsed and drained)
1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
1 granny smith apple (peeled, cored and chopped)
1 orange (zest and juice)
1 lemon (zest and juice)

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, cook the cranberries, sugar and 1 cup of water over low heat until the skins begin to pop open, approximately 5 minutes. Stir in the apples, zest, and juices and continue to cook for another 15 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool.
  • Transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator.
