Chocolate and peanut butter--nature's best flavor combo-come together in this classic brownie.

2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 tablespoons milk
2 eggs
3/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/3 cup peanut butter chips
1/3 cup baking cocoa
1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Grease square pan, 9x9x2 inches. Mix sugars, butter, milk and eggs in medium bowl. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Divide batter in half (about 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons for each half). Stir peanut butter and peanut butter chips into 1 half. Stir cocoa and chocolate chips into remaining half.
  • Spoon chocolate batter into pan in 8 mounds, checkerboard style. Spoon peanut butter batter between mounds of chocolate batter. Gently swirl through batters with knife for marbled design.
  • Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely about 1 hour. For 16 brownies, cut into 4 rows by 4 rows.

1 (19.8 ounce) package brownie mix without nuts
½ cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
¼ cup water
1 (13 ounce) package miniature chocolate-covered peanut butter cups - unwrapped, chilled, and coarsely chopped
1 cup creamy peanut butter
⅓ cup white sugar
¼ cup butter, softened
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Stir brownie mix, vegetable oil, 2 eggs, and water in a large mixing bowl until smoothly combined and gently mix the chopped peanut butter cups into the batter.
  • Beat peanut butter, sugar, butter, flour, vanilla extract, and 1 egg together in a bowl with an electric mixer until thoroughly combined. Spread half the brownie batter into the bottom of the prepared baking dish and top with 1/4-cup dollops of peanut butter mixture in an even pattern. Pour remaining brownie batter between the dollops. Use a knife to lightly swirl the peanut butter mixture into the brownie batter; do not overmix.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies comes out with moist crumbs, 30 to 40 minutes. Cool completely before serving.

I took my favorite brownie recipe which was tweaked,and combined it with a Peanut butter swirl filling. these brownies are deep dark chocolate,and thick with a Peanut butter swirl mingling through out them. They are surely decadent. Grab a tall glass of milk and dig in!

PEANUT BUTTER SWIRL
1/2 c smooth peanut butter
4 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp flour
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/2 Tbsp of a beaten egg
FUDGE BROWNIES
3/4 c unsweetened cocoa powder ( i use ghirardelli)
1 stick plus 2 tablespoons of butter or (1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons)
1 1/4 c granulated sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c semi sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
1/2 c flour
1/2 c nuts of choice optional
POSTED 8-8-14

Steps:

  • 1. Fudge brownies: Heat oven to 325 degree's. Line an 8x8 inch pan with foil or parchment paper. Spray liner with vegetable oil spray.
  • 2. beat all of the ingredients together for the Peanut butter swirl filling,and set aside.
  • 3. combine butter,cocoa,sugar,and salt in a stainless steel bowl,or sauce pan. Boil water in a pan. Place bowl over water,and stir until butter melts. After the butter melts. Keep stirring until the chocolate mixture gets lumpy and a bit thicker. Remove from heat to cool down some.
  • 4. Add the vanilla,and add eggs 1 at a time. Stirring between each addition. Incorporate well. Add the flour and chocolate chips,and beat with a spoon well. This is not a box mix so stirring vigorously is fine. add nuts if desired.
  • 5. pour in to the 8x8 pan and smooth level. Place 6 spoonfuls of peanut butter mixture scattered evenly on top of brownie batter. Take a knife and swirl mixture. Do not over do it,or you'll mix it in to much.
  • 6. place in 325 degree oven bake for about 45 minutes,or until pick inserted in sides is clean and pick in center has a few crumbs on it. Cool and cut in to squares. (note: if making the fudge brownies with out the peanut butter. Bake about 30 minutes)
