Simple and tasty homemade tartar sauce. It's great with my Pan Fried Whiting Fish. I hate bottled, store bought tartar sauce so I came up with this recipe. Pairs great with my Pan Fried Whiting Fish recipe # 516675

2/3 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons sweet pickle relish
2 teaspoons vidalia onions (finely diced)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon dill weed
1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

Steps:

  • In small mixing bowl mix all ingredients.
  • Refrigerate, the longer the better, before serving. It can stay fresh in the refrigerator up to 3 - 4 days.

Simple tartar sauce for deep fried seafood. It is better if prepared several hours before you will be using it, but it can be used immediately. Store for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.

1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
1 tablespoon minced onion
2 tablespoons lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, and minced onion. Stir in lemon juice. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

  • Mix all ingredients together in small bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and let stand to blend flavors, about 15 minutes. Stir again before serving.
