Baked sweet potato wedges are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. These are seasoned with a smoky, spicy blend that will have everybody coming back for more! Great thing about this recipe is you can adjust the seasoning to your desire. You want to add minced garlic, go ahead! You want these bad boys spicier, go for it!

1 ½ tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
¼ teaspoon sea salt
¼ teaspoon cornstarch
⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 medium sweet potatoes
2 tablespoons olive oil

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, cornstarch, and cayenne pepper together in a small bowl.
  • Cut potatoes in half lengthwise, then cut each half into 3 wedges. Place in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil; toss to coat. Add spice mixture and stir with a rubber spatula or your hands until potatoes are completely coated. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the thickest parts of potato wedges are easily pierced with a fork, about 25 minutes.

3 Tbsp (42 g) butter
1/4 cup (60 g) pureed sweet potato (about 1 small sweet potato)
1 tbsp (15 ml) vanilla extract
1 tsp salt
11/2 tsp (4 g) ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/3 cup (50 g) toasted pecans, chopped
1 (10-oz) bag marshmallows
6 cups (210 g) brown rice cereal

Steps:

  • Have an 8 x 8-inch or a 9 x 9-inch baking dish lined with parchment and sprayed with cooking spray nearby.
  • In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat, then add the pureed sweet potato, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and toasted pecans. Add the marshmallows and continue to cook, stirring with a wooden spoon, until the marshmallows are melted. Add the cereal, folding gently to combine, and then, working quickly before the mixture stiffens, transfer it to the prepared baking dish, packing the mixture into the pan with a sheet of parchment or wax paper to make an even and dense layer. Allow to cool completely to harden, about 30 minutes, then slice into nine 3-inch squares and serve.

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup corn flakes or 1/2 cup crispy rice cereal, crushed
1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon dried sweet basil leaves
3/4 lb sweet potato, with peel, cut into 1/2-inch slices

Steps:

  • Beat egg whites and garlic powder together in a small bowl.
  • Combine crushed cereal, parsley, and basil in a pie plate.
  • Dip each potato slice into egg mixture and then into cereal mixture.
  • Cost well.
  • Place slices on a lightly greased baking sheet and bake in a preheated 435* oven for 20 minutes.
  • Turn slices over and bake for 10 more minutes until tender.

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted

Steps:

  • Meanwhile, lightly coat a large rimmed baking sheet and 2 large spoons with nonstick cooking spray. Lightly coat a large heatproof bowl with nonstick cooking spray and put the Rice Krispies in it. In a small bowl, mix the baking soda with the 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 1/8 teaspoon of cayenne. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar with 1/2 tablespoon of the butter and 1/4 cup of water and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Boil over moderately high heat, swirling the pan occasionally, until a golden caramel forms, about 7 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the baking soda mixture; the caramel will foam. Immediately drizzle all of the hot caramel over the cereal and, using the 2 greased spoons, quickly toss to coat. Spread the topping on the prepared baking sheet in an even layer and let cool completely, then break into pieces.
  • Scoop the sweet-potato flesh into a food processor. Add the remaining 6 tablespoons of butter and the cream, orange zest and a generous pinch of cayenne and puree until smooth. Season with salt and black pepper. Transfer the sweet potatoes to a serving bowl and dollop with additional butter. Serve, passing the crispy rice topping at the table.
