1 cup crisp honey squares cereal (such as Honey Nut Chex)
1 cup crisp wheat cereal (such as Wheat Chex)
1/2 cup mini pretzel twists
1/2 cup unsalted cashews
1/2 cup pecan halves
1/4 cup whole almonds
1/4 cup unsalted peanuts
1 egg white (or 3 tablespoons liquid egg whites)
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground chipotle chili powder
1 teaspoon ground chili powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/8 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F. Lightly coat a baking sheet with non-stick spray, line with parchment paper, then coat with baking spray once more. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine the honey nut cereal, wheat cereal, pretzels, cashews, pecans, peanuts, and almonds.
  • In another bowl, beat the egg white until foamy, then stir in the maple syrup, cinnamon, chipotle powder, chili powder, salt, cumin, and cayenne. Drizzle over the cereal and nut mixture, then toss to coat.
  • Spread the mixture in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 1 hour, stirring once every 20 minutes. The mixture is done when dry to the touch. Remove from the oven, place the pan on a cooling rack, and let cool completely.

1 package (10 ounces) Cheerios
1 package (10 ounces) Honeycomb cereal
1 package (10 ounces) pretzel sticks
1-3/4 cups sugar
1-1/2 cups canola oil
1-1/4 cups butter, melted
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons garlic salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 275°. In a very large bowl, combine cereals and pretzels. In another bowl, mix the remaining ingredients until sugar is dissolved. Pour over cereal mixture; toss to coat. , Transfer to a large roasting pan. Bake, uncovered, 1-1/4 hours or until cereal is crisp, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool completely. Store in an airtight container.

1 (12 ounce) package crispy corn and rice cereal
5 ounces slivered almonds
6 ounces toasted, chopped pecans
¾ cup butter
¾ cup dark corn syrup
1 ½ cups light brown sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Lightly grease a large roasting pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix crispy corn and rice cereal, slivered almonds and toasted, chopped pecans.
  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and mix with dark corn syrup and light brown sugar. Pour the mixture over the crispy corn and rice cereal mixture. Stir and shake to coat all the nuts and cereal.
  • Pour the coated mixture into the prepared roasting pan. Stirring approximately every 15 minutes, cook 1 hour in the preheated oven. Cool on wax paper, and store in airtight containers.

14 ounces Chex cereal ((1 box) )
1 cup nuts ((I used 1/2 cup sliced almonds and 1/2 cup cashews))
2-2 1/2 cups sweetened coconut
2 sticks butter ((I used salted))
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups karo syrup
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Spray a large bowl with non-stick cooking spray. Pour chex in bowl and mix in the coconut and nuts. Set aside.
  • Cut the cube of butter into small pieces and place in a large sauce pan over medium heat. Add sugar and karo syrup and stir together. Bring to a boil and then continue to cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Add in vanilla and stir until combined. Remove pan from heat and pour mixture over chex and stir until the mix is coated.
  • Then spread the mixture out on wax paper and allow to cool. Store in an air tight container.

I've got your yummy Christmas Crack recipe right here! This Sticky Sweet and Salty Chex Mix gets its name for good reason! Once you start you just can't stop. A simple syrup (with LOTS of butter) gets drizzled over corn Chex and studded with nuts and M&Ms. It is salty-sweet perfection!

1 cup salted butter (2 sticks)
1 & 1/2 cups light corn syrup
1 & 1/2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 & 1/2 cups salted cashews (and/or peanuts, or to taste)
8 cups corn Chex cereal (*)
Christmas M&Ms (optional)

Steps:

  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium-high heat.
  • Add the corn syrup and sugar. Bring to a boil. Once there are bubbles all the way across the surface, set a timer for 3 minutes and stir occasionally. When it is a caramel consistency, remove from heat.
  • Stir in the vanilla.
  • Stir in the cashews and peanuts to get them completely coated.
  • Spray a large bowl with nonstick spray. Spray a large baking sheet with plenty of nonstick spray.
  • Add the Chex to the greased bowl, then pour the syrup over the cereal and stir to combine. Keep stirring and wait for the mixture to cool down a bit before adding your M&Ms, otherwise they tend to split open and get chocolate everywhere.
  • Once all the cereal is coated, use a wooden spoon to spread it on a large greased baking sheet.
  • Let cool completely. It will set up some but will remain pretty sticky. Sticky's not in the title on accident :)
  • Store this in large ziplock bags. Or if you plan to deliver this as a gift, scoop some into a wide-mouth mason jar and tie a ribbon around the top.

1 cup light Karo syrup
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup butter (NOT margarine)
1 dash imitation butter flavoring
1 pinch baking soda
18 cups Chex cereal or 18 cups Crispix cereal, and nuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 250°F.
  • Melt together Karo syrup, sugar and butter in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil.
  • Add butter flavoring and baking soda, mix.
  • Pour over cereal mixture (use whatever quantities of cereal and nuts that you desire to make 18 cups).
  • Spread on a large, flat cookie sheet and bake at 250°F for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and spread Chex mixture on waxed paper, separating cereal pieces. Let cool completely.
