Delicious sweet and spicy pork that is so easy to throw into the crockpot!

1 whole Large Onion
1 whole Pork Shoulder 5-7 Pounds
1 can Chipotle Peppers In Adobo Sauce (11 Ounce)
2 cans Dr. Pepper
1/4 cup Brown Sugar
Salt and Pepper to taste
shredded lettuce
cheese
avocado
salsa
cilantro

Steps:

  • Cut onion in slices and line the bottom of the crockpot. Lay the pork shoulder on top. Sprinkle pork with brown sugar and salt and pepper.
  • Pour the can of chipotle peppers on top of the pork and pour both cans of Dr Pepper on top.
  • Turn the crockpot on low and cook for 4-6 hours. Remove pork from the slow cooker and shred. I also took the chipotle peppers out so they weren't too hot for the little ones. Return the shredded pork to crockpot and allow to heat through.
  • Serve on tortillas and top with favorite toppings.

1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 teaspoon Sea Salt
1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
1/4 teaspoon Lemon Pepper
1/4 teaspoon Ginger
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Choice of BBQ sauce (optional)
2 cups shredded green cabbage
1 cup shredded red cabbage
1/4 cup grated carrot
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper

Steps:

  • Pat the pork dry and place in a 5-quart or larger slow cooker. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and spices. Rub the mixture over the top and sides of the pork. Drizzle the vinegar over the top.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or until pork shreds easily with a fork.
  • Optional: Preheat oven broiler. Toss shredded pork with 1 cup BBQ sauce and spread onto baking sheet. Broil 6 inches away from heat source for 4 to 6 minutes until slightly crispy.
  • Place the cabbage and carrot in a large bowl.
  • Combine the olive oil, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper in a small bowl and whisk vigorously to emulsify. Pour over the cabbage mixture and toss to coat.
  • Let sit 10 minutes before serving.

1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
1 bottle (12 ounces) beer or 1-1/2 cups beef broth
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup tomato paste
3 tablespoons paprika
4 teaspoons garlic powder
1-1/2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon hickory liquid smoke, optional
8 Hawaiian sweet hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • Place roast in a greased 4- or 5-qt. slow cooker. In a large bowl, combine tomato sauce, beer, brown sugar, honey, tomato paste, seasonings and, if desired, liquid smoke; pour over meat. Cook, covered, on low 6-8 hours or until meat is tender., Remove roast. When cool enough to handle, shred meat with two forks. Skim fat from cooking juices. 2 teaspoons kosher salt

1 (6 pound) Boston pork butt roast
13 fluid ounces ginger beer

Steps:

  • Arrange sweet onions in the bottom of a slow cooker.
  • Mix salt, brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes together in a bowl until seasonings are well mixed; rub all over pork roast. Place roast in the slow cooker, fat-side up. Brush any leftover seasonings mixture from the work surface into the slow cooker.

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Rinse and dry the pork shoulder.
