SWEET AND SPICY GREEN BEANS
The flavors of this side dish are intense! It is great as a starter to an Asian menu, or as a significant addition to a light stir-fry meal.

Steps:
- Arrange a steamer basket in a pot over boiling water, and steam the green beans 3 to 4 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, garlic, garlic chili sauce, and honey.
- Heat the canola oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the green beans, and fry for 3 to 5 minutes. Pour in the soy sauce mixture. Continue cooking and stirring 2 minutes, or until the liquid is nearly evaporated. Serve immediately.

- Gently simmer the string beans until tender. Heat a large frying pan with olive oil; add the onions, garlic and ginger and sauté until the garlic is fragrant and the onions are slightly golden. Lift the string beans out of the water with a slotted spoon and carefully add them to the sautéed garlic, onions and ginger. Sauté the sting beans for another minute or two. Mix the ingredients for the dressing and add to the string beans.

- In a large non-stick skillet with high sides and a lid (or a Dutch oven), heat 2 tablespoons oil over medium high. Once the oil begins to smoke, add green beans and do not stir for three minutes or until they are starting to sear on the bottoms. Add water and cover.
