SWEET & SAVORY SLOPPY JOES
This recipe can be made with lean ground beef or turkey. It's very easy and tastes great! It's totally customizable too. You can add more or less chili powder and brown sugar, depending how much heat and sweet you're looking for. These are a real crowd pleaser.

- Brown ground beef or turkey in a medium stock pot.
- Add green pepper & garlic. Saute.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Simmer for 20 minutes, or until desired thickness is reached.
- Serve on hamburger buns.

Steps:
- Brown ground beef and onion. Drain grease from beef and onion mixture.
- Return skillet with hamburger and onion to stove and add vinegar. Allow to evaporate.
- Add pepper and ground mustard and stir well.
- Add brown sugar and cook until hamburger looks 'tan'.
- Add ketchup and relish and simmer until mixture has thickened.
- Serve on hamburger buns.

- 1) Heat large nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot. Add Ground Beef, bell pepper and onion; cook 8 to 10 minutes, breaking beef into 3/4-inch crumbles and stirring occasionally. Remove drippings. 2) Stir in tomato sauce, water, raisins, ancho chili powder and oregano; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer uncovered, 15 to 18 minutes or until sauce thickens slightly, stirring occasionally. 3) Evenly divide beef mixture on bottom half of each bun. Garnish with toppings, as desired; close sandwiches. Cooking times are for fresh or thoroughly thawed Ground Beef. Ground Beef should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160F. Color is not a reliable indicator of Ground Beef doneness.
SWEET PICKLE SLOPPY JOES
This recipe comes from the Southern Living Homestyle Cooking Cookbook. One of many in my cookbook collection. It's super fast, and I like the sweet pickle relish, it gives it a "kick". Super yummy.

Alot of similar recipes, but didn't find one exactly like this so I thought I would post. Brown sugar makes these extra sweet. This recipe is made every year at my neice's birthday parties. I got it from her mom. :)

- Place a large skillet over medium heat and start browning meat, breaking apart as you go. Add in onion and garlic and cook to soften about 5 minutes. Stir in all ingredients to create the sauce and bring it to bubble. Reduce heat immediately to low, cover, and cook 45 minutes-1 hour. {The longer the better}
- Toast open sides of hamburger buns spread generously with softened butter and rub with the cut side of a garlic clove if desired. This is totally optional.
- Spoon filling onto the bottoms of each bun and sprinkle with grated white cheddar cheese. Top with other bun and enjoy!
