My family loves these low-carb and keto-friendly baked chicken wings! They're a staple around our house during football season. I love to serve them with blue cheese dressing for dipping.

aluminum foil
cooking spray
½ cup butter
¾ cup hot pepper sauce (such as Valentina®)
¼ cup sucralose sugar substitute (such as Splenda®)
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
3 pounds chicken wing pieces, drumettes and flats
½ cup blue cheese salad dressing

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Line a rimmed baking pan with foil. Spray a wire rack with cooking spray and set inside the baking pan.
  • Melt butter in a small saucepan. Mix in hot sauce, sucralose, salt, and garlic powder. Remove from heat and set sauce aside.
  • Place chicken wing pieces on the prepared rack.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, pour off any juices accumulated in the bottom of the pan, and turn chicken pieces over. Bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Remove chicken from the oven and transfer to a large bowl. Cover with sauce and toss to coat. Return chicken to the rack on the baking pan and bake until no longer pink at the bone and the juices run clear, 15 to 30 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted near the bone should read 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).

3 pounds chicken wings
1/4 cup ketchup
1 (18-ounce) jar apricot-pineapple preserves (recommended: Smuckers)
2 tablespoons citrus herb seasoning
2 tablespoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon chili seasoning
1 jalapeno, finely diced

Steps:

  • Light broiler. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil; set aside. Rinse wings with cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Place wings on baking sheet skin-side up. Broil wings for 8 to 10 minutes while preparing sauce. NOTE: this step can be omitted, but produces a better tasting wing.
  • Place wings in the crock of 4 quart slow cooker. In a bowl, stir to combine remaining ingredients. Pour over wings and stir to coat. Place lid on slow cooker and cook on high setting for 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours.

1 ½ cups Louisiana-style hot sauce
¾ cup butter
1 cup honey
1 pinch garlic salt
1 pinch ground black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat.
  • Lightly oil the grill grate. Grill the chicken 8 to 12 minutes on each side, or until juices run clear. (You can deep fry or bake the chicken instead if you want to, but it is best when grilled.) Remove chicken to a large roasting pan.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, mix the hot sauce, butter, honey, garlic salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Simmer about 10 minutes, until blended and heated through. Pour the sauce over the grilled chicken wings and stir to coat.

25 whole chicken wings (about 5 pounds)
2 cups all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons seasoned salt
2 teaspoons garlic salt
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 cups orange marmalade
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup soy sauce
3/4 teaspoon ground ginger

Steps:

  • Cut chicken wings into 3 sections; discard wing tip section. In a large bowl, combine the flour, seasoned salt and garlic salt. Add chicken wings, in batches, and toss to coat. In a large cast-iron or other heavy skillet, fry wings in oil, in batches, until golden and crispy, 3-4 minutes., Drain pan drippings; return all chicken to the skillet. Combine the marmalade, ketchup, soy sauce and ginger; pour over chicken and stir to coat. Cover and cook over medium-low heat for 10-15 minutes.

Simple, yet tasty. I get asked for these a lot at get togethers. My two year old also loves them. The original recipe came from my mother, but I made several changes and now I think they are even better.

36 chicken wings or 36 chicken drummettes
1 1/2 cups orange marmalade
1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
1 -2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (to taste)
1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place chicken in large zip lock bag.
  • In small bowl, mix orange marmelade, teriyaki sauce, and crushed red pepper together. Pour over chicken, coat well.
  • Place chicken in single layer on large metal pan (a cookie sheet works fine). Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 30 minutes or until juice runs clear. Sprinkle with salt and pepper if desired.
  • note: I always stick mine under the broiler for a few minutes, turning once, because I like my wings to be crispy. You could also do these on a grill.

1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon hot sauce
4 green onions, chopped

Steps:

  • Place chicken wings in a shallow dish or zip-top plastic freezer bag. Whisk together orange juice and next 6 ingredients.
  • Add 1 cup orange juice mixture to wings; reserve remaining mixture for later use.
  • Cover or seal, and chill 1 hour.
  • Remove chicken from marinade, discarding marinade.
  • Grill wings, covered with grill lid, over medium high heat 17 to 20 minutes, turning occasionally.
  • Bring reserved orange juice mixture to a boil in a saucepan. Reduce heat, and simmer 25 minutes or until mixture is reduced by half.
  • Toss warm chicken wings with 1/4 cup reduced orange juice mixture; transfer to serving platter and sprinkle with chopped green onions.
  • Serve chicken wings warm with remaining orange juice mixture.

1 tablespoon minced fresh gingerroot
1 tablespoon grated lime zest

Steps:

4 pounds chicken wings or drumettes
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, chopped

Steps:

  • Put the chicken in a large resealable bag. Combine the soy sauce, lime juice, canola oil, honey, ginger, pepper flakes, garlic and onions in a large bowl and whisk to blend. Pour the marinade into the resealable bag and massage it into the chicken. Place in the refrigerator to marinate for at least 1 hour but not more than 2 hours total.
  • Heat a grill to medium heat.
  • Remove the chicken from the marinade, place on a baking sheet lined with paper towels and pat the chicken dry. Pour the marinade into a small pot and reduce by half over medium-low heat, about 10 minutes. Set aside to brush on the chicken when grilling.
  • Grill the chicken until the skin gets crispy, about 6 minutes. Flip, brush the cooked side with the reduced marinade and cook for another 6 minutes. Flip and brush again with the reduced marinade. Cook each side until nicely browned and slightly sticky, an additional 2 to 3 minutes per side. Transfer to a serving platter and serve.
