Steps:
- Cream butter and gradually add 1 cup sugar.
- Beat in vanilla and eggs.
- Sift the flour with baking powder and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
- Add to egg mixture and blend well.
- Chill for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine walnuts, cinnamon and sugar.
- Roll chilled dough into sugar.
- Place cookies on greased and floured baking sheets about 3 inches apart. Bake about 12 minutes. Cool on racks.

- In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the buttermilk, butter, sugar, eggs, salt, baking soda and 5 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. , Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1-1/2 hours. , Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; divide in half. Roll each into a 16-in. x 9-in. rectangle; brush with butter. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over dough. , Fold in half lengthwise, forming a 16-in. x 4-1/2-in. rectangle; pinch edges to seal. Cut into 4-1/2-in. x 1-in. strips; twist each strip two or three times. Place 2 in. apart on greased baking sheets. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes. , Bake at 375° for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool. Combine glaze ingredients; drizzle over warm twists.

These are one of the best cookies I have ever eaten. They make up easily, and they disappear fast. I make these every year when we put up our Christmas Tree. I serve them with hot Cocoa while we decorate our tree. I swear the cookies are anticipated as much as the tree!

Steps:
- In a mixer bowl, cream together sugar and butter; beat in egg and vanilla.
- Combine flour, cinnamon, baking powder and salt.
- Add to butter mixture.
- Blend well.
- Cover and refrigerate 2 hours or till firm enough to roll into balls.
- Shape dough into small balls about 3/4-inch in diameter.
- Roll in cinnamon sugar to coat.
- Set cookies 1-inch apart on lightly greased cookie sheets.
- Bake at 350° for 10 minutes or till the edges are lightly browned.
- Cool slightly on pans, then remove to racks to cool completely.

I make these every Christmas. This recipe was very dry this year so I added a whole egg instead of just the yolk and they turned out great.

- 1. Mix all ingredients well. Form into small balls and roll in white sugar. Place on cookie sheet and flatten with the bottom of a glass dipped in additional sugar.

- Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the molasses and mix well.
- Dissolve the baking soda in the egg yolk in a small bowl. Stir into the creamed mixture.
