Use the freshest lemons and limes for this. The final product can be bottled and stored in your fridge for weeks and should taste like a tart homemade lemonade. This recipe came with the bottle of Chambord that I bought.

1 ounce lime juice, fresh squeezed
3 ounces mineral water (should read spring water)
1 ounce sugar

  • Mix all together.
  • Store in the refrigerator.

  • Mix sugar, olive oil, salt, lemon zest, and lemon extract together in a bowl until blended. Spoon into a 1-pint jar; tighten the lid.

32 -40 drops peppermint oil
32 -40 drops balsam fir needle pine oil
2 lbs coarse salt

Steps:

  • Fill 8-8 ounce jars with salt top with oil and 4-6 drops of each oil in each jar.
  • Using a knife to cut through the salt so the oil goes throughtout.

I like to experiment with bath products. This is very much like the body polish you can get at that expensive bath spa. You may want to remove any "fine" jewelry just to be safe. Also if you use it in the bath tub, it may leave your bathtub a little slippery.

1 cup fine sea salt bath salts
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup bath gel
3 -5 drops essential oils (optional)

Steps:

  • Mix all the ingredients together in a plastic container.
  • Stir before using.
  • Put a generous spoonful of this on dry, not wet hands.
  • Rub hand together as if you were rubbing in hand lotion for about 30-45 seconds.
  • Rinse with warm water.
  • Your hands will feel sooooooo soft.
  • This is also great on feet, elbows and knees.
  • This makes a great stocking stuffer.

I work in an office with 5 doctors and as you know, doctors are always washing their hands which makes them dry. We make this lotion for them and they LOVE IT!! **UPDATE 3/31/09: I use 4 oz. of Vaseline petroleum jelly, it would not let me enter it on the ingredients part and for the Vitamin E, you can use lotion or cream, whatever you like or can find. I also tried the NEW cucumber melon baby lotion....AWESOME!!, husband and son liked it but I still like the regular pink the best. I ONLY use J&J baby lotion because it seems to work the best. Thanks to everyone who has given me reviews....

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in an empty gallon-sized jug with the top cut off.
  • Hang one solution in each of your fruit bearing trees - works at its best if you begin the treatments before the trees blossom.
  • Continue to use the treatment until the end of the fruit bearing season, replacing as often as neccesary.

1/8 teaspoon borax (borax is a natural chemical substance found on alkaline lakeshores. Because it is a mild alkali it g)
1/4 cup mineral water
1/2 cup mineral oil (or use olive oil, which doesn't feel as heavy)
2 tablespoons grated beeswax
3 -5 drops lavender oil (optional) or 1 teaspoon rose water (optional also)

Steps:

  • Dissolve borax in water in a microwave safe cup.
  • Mix oil and beeswax in a microwave safe bowl and cook on med/high heat for several minutes, stirring every minute, until beeswax is melted.
  • (you can also heat in a double boiler till melted) Remove from heat or microwave.
  • When wax is melted bring the borax and water almost to boil in the microwave on high for about a minute.
  • Slowly add the borax to the oil, stirring briskly.
  • Add lavenderor rosewater, if using.
  • I like to add lavender because it helps to regenerate the skin, is a natural antibiotic, and has a calming effect.
  • Pour this cream into a container with a lid.
  • This mixture will last virtually forever.
  • To use, massage a small amount into your skin and then tissue off.
  • This mixture is white and fluffy and will thicken as it cools.
  • Note: For a lighter cream, put in in the blender after it has cooled and blend on high, adding 1 T water at a time.
  • If you end up with excess water do not worry- just strain it off your"fluffed up" cream.

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup sunflower oil (or safflower oil or olive oil)
2 -3 drops essential oils (or perfume-use your favorite for a nice smell you enjoy)
1/2 lemon, juice of (or lime)

Steps:

  • Mix the sugar, oil, and oil of your choice in a small bowl.
  • Squeeze the lemon or lime juice into the mixture just before you are ready to use. Citrus, if left too long, will melt the sugar crystals.
  • Stir, then rub mixture onto hands and feet, paying close attention to dry spots.
  • Rinse, then follow with a moisturizer. Enjoy!
