Warm sweet apple bread is perfect for breakfast or for a snack. I have enjoyed this recipe many times.

½ cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground cloves
2 apples - peeled, cored and chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8x4 inch loaf pan.
  • In a bowl, mix the butter and sugar until smooth and creamy. Beat in the eggs.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and cloves. Mix into the butter mixture until moistened. Fold in the apples. Transfer to the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake 1 hour in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

I was first introduced to this wonderful Apple Bread from a co-worker more than 20 years ago! I just recently begged her to bring me the recipe so I could make it. She said she has kept it "posted" on her refrigerator for all of these years and still makes it all the time. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups apples, chopped and pared (about 4 medium)
1/2 cup nuts, chopped
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Steps:

  • Heat over to 350 and grease and flour loaf pan.
  • Cream together the 1 cup sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla.
  • Stir in flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt until smooth.
  • Stir in apples and nuts and spread in pan.
  • Mix the 1 tablespoon sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle evenly over batter.
  • Bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about 50-60 minutes.
  • Immediately remove from pan; cool bread completely before slicing.
  • Store tightly covered. Makes 1 loaf.
  • Note: Unbleached flour can be used in this recipe; if using self-rising flour, omit baking powder, baking soda and salt.

1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped walnuts
3 cups apples - peeled, cored, and chopped
1 cup vegetable oil
2 cups white sugar
3 eggs, beaten
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Prepare 2 loaf pans (8 1/2x4 1/2-inch loaf pans) with cooking spray.
  • Mix flour, baking soda, salt, walnuts, and apples in a large bowl. Whisk oil, sugar, eggs, and cinnamon together in a small bowl; add to flour mixture and mix until just moistened. Evenly divide mixture between prepared loaf pans.

This tender apple bread is flavored with fresh apple and lots of sweet spices in every bite! The perfect Fall treat that will make your house smell delicious and will please the entire family!

2 cups green apple (peeled & shredded)
2 large eggs
½ cup white sugar
½ cup brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
¼ cup melted butter (melted and cooled)
¾ cup applesauce (unsweetened)
2 cups all purpose flour
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground nutmeg

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a loaf pan and set aside.
  • In a small mixing bowl add the eggs, vanilla extract, melted butter and applesauce. Stir until completely combined. Mix in the sugars. Stir until combined.
  • In a large mixing bowl add the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and cloves. Stir with a fork to combine. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir to combine. Add in the shredded apple and stir.
  • Pour dough into prepared loaf pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 50-60 minutes, top will be golden brown. Check that it's cooked by inserting a toothpick in the center, once it's done cooking the toothpick will come out clean, no dough will be stuck on it.
  • Allow bread to cool in pan for about 5-10 minutes. Turn upside down and remove bread loaf from pan and allow to continue cooling on wire rack.
  • Store covered at room temperature for 3-4 days.

1 cup shredded apples
1.5 cups white whole wheat flour
½ cup light brown sugar (or coconut sugar)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 large eggs
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup plain unsweetened almond milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons melted coconut oil

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF and spray a loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • In a medium size bowl, mix together all of the dry ingredients until they are combined. Set aside.
  • In a seperate bowl, mix all of the wet ingredients together (except for the coconut oil).
  • Slowly add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until smooth.
  • Finally, fold the melted cocont oil into the batter.
  • Pour batter into bread pan and top with oats or nuts (we used oats).
  • Bake for 40 minutes and then cover the bread with tin foil. Place bread back into the oven and bake for another 20 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for at least 30 minutes and enjoy!

Bake in a 325 degree F oven for 45 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans on wire racks for 10 minutes. Remove from pans. Cool on wire racks. Wrap and store overnight before slicing. Makes 30 servings.
  • Note: Golden Delicious, Rome, Granny Smith, Jonathan, or Newtown Pippin apples are a good choice for this bread.
