SUNRISE CHEESE BREAD



Sunrise Cheese Bread image

Easy cheese bread from the back of a Sunrise Dinner Roll package. I haven't made these, but the cinnamon raisin bun recipe is really good, so I'm thinking these will be too. The prep time includes time to thaw and let rise.

Number Of Ingredients 3

700 g frozen dinner rolls (20 pieces)
3 tablespoons butter, melted
3/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated

Steps:

  • Grease 10" pan (bundt, angel food or loaf).
  • Place frozen rolls in pan.
  • Drizzle melted butter and sprinkle cheese over dough.
  • Cover with damp cloth and let thaw in warm location for about 8 hours or overnight. (This may be sped up by placing pan in 100 degree oven for about 4 hours).
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes, until golden brown. Let stand for 15 minutes, turn out of pan and enjoy.

I clipped this recipe out of a coupon flyer and made a couple of modifications. This is the recipe I use for our Christmas morning breakfast casserole.

1 lb roll pork sausage
2 slices bread, toasted, buttered and cut into 1/2 inch cubes (about 2 cups)
1/2 cup onion, diced
1/2-3/4 cup green and red pepper, diced
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
6 eggs
2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 11X7 baking dish.
  • Crumble and cook sausage and onion in medium skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain off fat.
  • Spread bread cubes in dish; top with sausage, peppers, and cheese.
  • Whisk eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and mustard until well blended; pour over cheese.
  • Bake 30 to 40 minutes or until set. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting into squares; serve hot. Refrigerate leftovers.
  • Note: This may be made the day before and refrigerated overnight. Baking time should be increased to an hour.
