SUN DROP® POUND CAKE
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a tube pan.
- Beat white sugar, 1 cup margarine, and shortening together with an electric mixer until creamy and smooth. Mix flour, 6 fluid ounces citrus-flavored soda, eggs, lemon extract, and vanilla extract into the creamed mixture until well incorporated. Pour batter into the prepared tube pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean, about 1 hour 15 minutes. Let cake cool for 10 minutes before turning cake onto a serving plate.
- Whisk confectioners' sugar, 2 tablespoons melted margarine, and 1 fluid ounce citrus-flavored soda together in a bowl until smooth; spread over cake.

- Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 12-cup (10-inch) bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray. Combine all ingredients in large bowl; mix well. Do not over-mix. Pour mixture into prepared pan. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. While cake is still in pan, poke holes into cake with handle of wooden spoon. Ladle approximately half of glaze over cake. Allow cake to set 10 minutes. Turn cake out onto round plate then drizzle remaining glaze over top of cake. Serve warm or at room temperature. Note: Cake is best when served warm. Glaze: Combine soda, sugar and butter in small heavy saucepan. Heat over medium heat; stir until all ingredients are melted.
SUN DROP CAKE
This is a favorite at our company potlucks. If you do not have Sun Drop, you can use Mountain Dew. You can also use orange cake mix, and use Orange Crush for the soda. It is a great addition, as well.

- Preheat oven to 325°. Grease a bundt cake pan. In a self-standing mixer, cream butter and crisco together. Add sugar. Add eggs, 1 at a time. Alternate adding cake flour and sun-drop. Add vanilla and lemon flavoring. Pour into cake pan and drop on counter several times to release air bubbles. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
SUNDROP CAKE
If you do not have Sundrop at your local store you can also use Mt Dew or any type of soda like that.

- Combine the cake mix, Sundrop soda, eggs and vegetable oil in a mixing bowl. Beat with an electric mixer for 3 minutes. Spoon into a flutes pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees F.
- I have used a 9*13 pan also and it works just the same.
