EASY PORTUGUESE-STYLE BEAN SOUP
One day I was looking at Portuguese recipes and decided to put together a bean soup that embraced the bright and spicy flavors of Portugal. My family liked it so much, it became a classic in our household. To save time and work, the sausage, vegetables and herbs can all be prepped in minutes with a food processor. -Steven Vance, Woodland, Washington

CREAMY STRING BEAN SOUP
This is an old German recipe that can be enhanced by adding Mettwurst or your favorite cooked and diced German sausage to the soup just before serving, that way the soup won't get greasy tasting.

LINGUICA AND GREEN BEANS
This recipe is well known to Portuguese families. Linguica is a spicy Portuguese sausage and can be found in specialty markets, some chain markets or online at such places as Gaspars.com. TIP: I like to add 1 large can of crushed tomatoes with puree instead of the tomato sauce. This makes it more like a stew and thicker.
